Vince Biegel chooses Wisconsin

Submitted by Magnus on

This was totally expected, and I think most of us realized that the ship had sailed for Michigan...

...but Vince Biegel (LB - Wisconsin Rapids, WI) committed to the Badgers.

They're all fairly comparable, talent-wise.  Each of them is a 4-star prospect.

Biegel's a little bigger than Ross and a little thinner than Bolden.  He probably could have played SAM linebacker for Michigan.  The biggest thing I liked about Biegel was that he's a very well coached, fundamental player.  It probably has something to do with his dad playing linebacker in college, I guess.  But he would have been ready to play as soon as he put on a few pounds of muscle.

Recruiting reminds me of playing strategy games so much sometimes.  As soon as you get a decent amount of one unit, you have to step up production of another unit to keep your whole army balanced.  It's tough.

Anyways, video game time.

He was a good prospect, but to be honest the fact that he's mormon and likely would have gone on a mission left me hoping he would choose to go somewhere else.  Just logistically I'd rather we recruit guys who aren't planning to take two year breaks in the middle of their college careers.

Again, seems like a great kid but I'm glad he ended up at Wisconsin.
