I am starting to understand the strong recruiting the last couple of weeks. This whole staff is coming off as extremely likable.

All the coaches seem genuine and tuned into Michigan Football. I am still hoping (not expecting given the time crunch they were put in) for a big surprise, but am pretty pleased so far.

I really think there is more than one surprise before or on NSD, these guys are doing all the right things, and most likely saying the right things.

I just hope one of those surprises may be Cooper, we could really use a true DT in this class.

I like this staff more and more I hear more of these videos. This staff is experienced in the game, and also seem to care about the kids they are about to impact. I don't think they care about who recruited these kids, rather it was RR or themselves, I foresee them treating and teaching all these kids equally. I am really getting excited about the future of this program. We will be an elite program very very soon.

the fact that he's already got long-standing relationships with Ohio high school coaches and programs will prove to be absolutely invaluable in recruiting.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Furthermore, just the fact that he puts such an emphasis on building relationships with high school coaches is encouraging and shows me that he knows what he's doing. He's looking to use those relationships down the road to influence future recruits, which for some reason I had never thought too hard about, but it makes perfect sense and I'm glad we have him on board.

coaches. I feel in order for Michigan to be successful, they have to be able to recruit in the Midwest. I must be done. The hard work mentality and strength is so important!

Be on time, and don't lie to me. Sounds like a couple decent rules.
I love his comments about making the players into good fathers/husbands/community leaders. It builds on Hoke's comments that the football program is, first and foremost, about the young men that are on the team. One goal is to win games, one goal is to please the fans, but THE goal is to help young men mature into people that will be a positive influence on the world no matter what they end up doing after football.

Coach Smith looks like my high school physics teacher. Thank goodness Smith doesn't sound or come off like him. I agree with a lot of the comments in various posts - I like this staff more and more. Hopefully that opinion continues to grow throughout the fall.

Will we have a DBs coach by the end of these videos?
It's getting ridiculous. What's the holdup?

We sure are landing a bunch of DBs!
I think having Mattison has been quite enough, thank you.
Hire the right guy, there's no rush.
