He's a good coach, but let's see him win big in an AQ conf that doesn't have some of the best recruiting in the country in his back yard with two other rivals of note (FSU and Miami) for those kids having down years...AND without Greg Mattison.

So this seems to be the place for wild unfounded speculation about where former coaches turned analysts will end up coaching again. Might as well throw my own prediction into the ring: Rich Rodriguez to UCLA. Firing Newheisel seems inevitable at this point, and it seems like a decent fit for RR. Pac 12 program with diminished expectations but high potential would give him the time he needs to build something up? L.A. loves offense. Confession: i live in LA and this is just wishful thinking since I'd like to be able to watch his next team.

There is no reason to fear.  Hoke, Mattison, and Borges with their recruiting classes will be able to take anyone on.  We should revel in great competition in years to come.  I assure you that tsio and PSU are more afraid of what the near future holds than any Michigan fan should be (and who would have thought that a year ago?!).

I think we have ourselves a great coach. I don't think we need to worry about Urban Meyer being at Ohio or Penn State. Plus, he does have health issues, so how long can he go before they become an issue again (see Minnesota)?

While I realize he has Ohio ties, I think that it would make sense for him to consider Penn State.  They have a great recruiting base in Pennsylvania as well as much of the east coast, but also a much more congenial fan base than "Ohio."  For a guy who collapsed due to stress, Ohio State's fan base is not what the doctor ordered.

It smacks of homerism because just about everyone here is a homer....just the way it is.

Also, of course Brady Hoke hasn't "proved" himself to be a better coach than Urban Meyer, but you could make the case that he is better coach for Michigan than Urban Meyer, and that's really all that matters.

It won't matter, because Tom Bradley would be so unbelievably filled with rage that he'd nuke all of State College anyway.  He's been doing the old-timer's job for the past five years, and the handshake has gone down under the table... he's next.

I personally don't care if he goes to Ohio State, or Penn St. We beat him when Jesus was his QB... I think it would make for great competition in the B1G. Bring it on!

I swear, some people have developed a serious "Losers" mentality after OSU's streak. Things are very cyclical in rivalries. We'll be fine. I'd like to see us beat OSU at their best on a consistent basis, not when they're flailing with non-permanent coaches and suspended players. No reason to freak out about a coach.

Not to mention, it's not like his medical issues are going to magically disappear as he gets older. Best case scenario for OSU, he gives them 3-5 years and the chance to maybe hand off to one of his staff members. I don't see him as a permanent fixture if he winds up in CBus.

PSU doesn't seem to make much sense as a destination for Urban Meyer. As mentioned, I think they will stick to the JoePa tree, unless they deteriorate to the point where a total overhaul is warranted.
