the other 12 PM ET ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 games are Penn State @ Purdue and Louisville @ Virginia.

PSU/Purdue doesn't exactly feel like an ABC game - actually, that feels A LOT like Beth Mowins on ESPN2.  So for U-M/MSU, it's probably down to ABC/ESPN with the ACC game.

Excellent. I shall have the brunt of my day to do with as I choose following a historically vicious prison-raping of the Spartans of Michigan State...

Pretty much assured noon slot since MSU is terrible. But I like it. Early games are best because it lets me have the rest of my day to do stuff and deal with emotions instead of constant nervous waiting.

That "constant nervous waiting" is part of the fun for me.

Also, my brain cannot wrap around that idea of having other things to do on college football Saturdays (other than the selfish people who schedule their dumb weddings on football Saturdays). The only thing to do every Saturday during the season is to watch football all day and night.

allows a lot more flexibility with timing (if the deceased would otherwise be presented) and makes it somewhat common for funerals with a lot of out of state relatives to be planned weeks in the future - and on a weekend when more people can attend.

I've watched at least three games this year later than broadcast. If you have an iphone, set it to "do not disturb". You will also have to commit to not looking at your phone at all until you're caught up with the game. I set my DVR, then put my TV on a different, non-sports channel so that there's no chance I catch the bottom-line score.

Good luck, and sorry about your reasons for delay.

I think the best strategy is to drv the game and start watching it about 40 after it starts. If you blow through the pregame, commercials and halftime you can catch up by the 4th quarter and watch that live. This minimizes time, the possibility of spoilers and also let's you catch the most important part live.

One thing to remember, even "live" has a delay. So you're just adjusting the amount of delay.

I did it for the Wisconsin game and I was very worried somebody was going to ruin it for me. I work in retail, so it was very possible that any number of customers could've mentioned the game. Somehow nobody texted me about it, either.
