It was a crazy decision even at the time, but it looks much worse now. I hope Aubrey finds his way into a long successful NFL career asap, it's hard to see how Tennessee is going to help him at all.

Schiano would have been hired instead of RR.That's pretty certain.
Schiano does somewhat better than RR. We don't have a 3-9 year, but he's mediocre with a difficult personality. He lasts a year or two longer than RR did. That's highly likely.
Brandon still hires Hoke. He's not really on the hot seat yet after the 2014 season, so we miss on Harbaugh. Hoke gets fired after another season or two. Also very likely.
Who coaches Michigan today? Probably someone on the hot seat right now.
