Down 3-0 to Canada right now. Hopefully LTT and the rest of Team USA can pull it out.
Punt return for TD. USA in trouble.
Looking better now... just scored a TD on a short pass... and now two tackles for loss on the first two plays of Canada's ensuing drive.
Isn't there a Canadian QB that Michigan is looking at for 2014 or 2015... any chance he's on this team that is looking pretty good?
Are you asking about the QB or the WR? There is a WR in 2014 Jaylan Grandison who broke a collarbone I believe at a recent camp, so he wouldnt be playing. And the qb's name is Michael O'Connor. I watched a play or two and it wasn't him. Then again this is U19, and you'd have to be a pretty good 15/16 year old to play.
16-7 canada,,,,usa in trouble
seems like tackling was not a required element for making team usa. just awful tackling.
rough
only 2 150 recruits on this team, LLT and Pocic, canada has some nice talent on that team that could make rosters, plus this usa qb sucks,
16-14
This is a good game... god, i've been starved for football.
LTT updates from a thread on 247 by a 247 staff writer.
"Ethan Pocic and Logan Tuley-Tillman pave the way for a 6-yard run by Folston."
"Pocic now playing left guard next to Logan Tuley-Tillman."
"Heads up play by Tuley-Tillman to put himself between a Canada defender and the ball allowing Mosely to make the recovery."
All from this thread.

This sucks. We shouldn't lose to Canada in football. I don't care that we only have 2 top 150 recruits...they have 0...gosh darn it they have floppy heads.
Our hockey teams kick ass also.
All your competitions are belong to us.
the coaching and gameplanning sucked as did this qb
props to canada
sad just sad
Had horrible flashbacks to Michigan's first drive at the Sugar bowl.
Looks like Canada is the new hotbed of football. Maybe Toronto will bid to host the CFB Championship Game.
I didn't get the chance to watch yesterday's game yet, but based on observations from previous games, I had a feeling this was going to be a tough game for 2 reasons:
1. Although this is a relatively new event, Team USA used rising HS seniors to make up their U19 team. During the last (and first) U19 World Championship in 2009, Team USA used incoming college freshmen for the team. This year's US team is comprised almost entirely of rising high school seniors because many universities want their freshmen enrolling earlier in the summer now. The US team was probably on average 1-2 years younger than Canada who was using some college players. Also 10 states do not allow their high school athletes to partciipate (Ohio & Michigan are in this group) which narrows the group you can select from. This article gives a pretty good breakdown:
2. Team USA's starting QB left the team for family reasons a couple days before the first game and the emergency 3rd string QB (a WR) got injured against American Samoa. Team USA was forced to play their backup QB for the entire tourney. Even the new backup they added to the roster in the middle of the tourney took a vicious hit and was knocked out of the semis. Their QB play was not great for most of the tournament.
I still thought they would be able to pull it out. Probably didn't help that many elite players probably chose The Opening over this as well.
