I upvoted you, as your point seems logical, but then I decided to do some checking myself. The Googles show five or six Duke blogs/school newspapers/ESPN sites. Absolutely none of them had any internet commenter spleen. In fact, on the ESPN site, there were 20 comments, and almost all of them were from Miami fans complaining about the 23 penalty calls.

So Duke wasn't there b/c Duke football fans apparently do not exist -- at least not on the Internet.

This Texas one was pretty good, give him points for honesty and sharing and maybe he will post pics in the future:

Sorry guys but Charlie Strong isn't to blame for this loss.
I am. My wife and I have had sex the morning of every Longhorn win, and abstained prior to every loss.

I identified this pattern after Kansas St and had every intention of doing my manly duty before Iowa State. Unfortunately my gall bladder tried to kill me this week and it was emergently removed. Needless to say I was in no shape to man up and nail my wife for Longhorn Nation. Then this game happened. Sorry guys.

Ryan did okay in Brian's stead last year but appears to be mailing it in.

It's all about the research / scouring. He's not digging deep enough and every column begins with essentially an apology for why it sucks this week.

Minnesota comments missing...here's a few that caught my eye.  Minnesota fans are the calmest most polite bunch around.  Almost makes me sad for their loss....almost....

ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUE WITH GOING FOR IT.......

BUT WAT THE **** IS WITH THE CLOCK MANAGEMENT__NEW COACHES PLEASE, LET'S END THIS FIASCO

This staff can hit the road. All night long there were breakdowns and it finally cost us. Harbaugh coached a poor game. Our guys were worse. Jerry deserved far better. But that era ended, tonight. A golden opportunity was wasted.

Clean house!

My 8 year old son just went to bed crying

Early education on being a Gopher fan.

Be effing bad enough to let him sort his candy or win the damned game. Don't effing tease him all night, have a winning touchdown called, and then pull that chit at the goal line with the clock running. It freaking killed him.

I blame myself for this.

Why have I done this to him? Why didn't I raise him to be a fan of just about any other team in any other sport?

Same. 6-year-old. Not crying, but wondering why Dad was so down... Confused.
It hurts.

God Damn Mother****ing horse****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

Dumbest coaching effort ever. You could try your hardest to coach worse, and you would fail.
---------------------
Oh, and Pete Carroll called. He said thanks for bumping me down to #2 on the list of greatest coaching fails from the 1 yd line.

It says the world that all Florida did was play competently and we were completely flummoxed by it. Just completely beyond baffled. ME GET PUNT? WHAT ME DO WITH PUNT?

While this may not have been the best effort for TWIS, the above comment is pretty accurate regarding Georgia special teams during last weekend's game.

that Minnesota will probably keep that interim coach around. Like the fact that they're OK with coming up short when it matters is just kinda depressing. I mean that dude is like the definition of settling.

Well think about it from their viewpoint:

Minnesota is not like Michigan or OSU. They can't just go out and get whatever coach they want. Anyone they get that happens to be any good will in all likelihood bolt for a better job later. Its not a destination job. Minnesota proved they can have it pretty good, by their standards, under Jerry Kill. So maybe they think it's worth testing the interim guy out and see if he can keep Kill's mojo going rather than risk going out, getting another Tim Brewster, and destroying everything Kill built.

Kill was a good step in the right direction for Minnesota to get back to respectability. Maybe they're afraid of losing it, because with Minnesota football, respectability is damn hard to come by.

fan would already be screaming to clean house.  I mean, the interim coach did an awesome job of almost grabbing a win, as a 13 point dog (IIRC).

I see that Miami (YTM) has rocketed up to the level of Michigan State in the "classless, sore winners" category.  Seriously?!  Trolling the opponent's fan sites after being gifted a win on a botched ref call so bad it got the whole officiating crew (including the replay guy) suspended?  Just wow!  Even Staee fans went to their own dang web sites to crow after winning the Michigan game.
