Troy Woolfolk's cast

Submitted by goblue12 on

I read already that he's fine and probably going to play this weekend. However, I was wondering if anyone here knows how long he's going to have to play with that club in his hand? Although I think the impact of the cast on his game is minimal, it definetely hinders his ability to wrap up on certain angles... and of course he's going to have a heck of a time trying to catch a ball if it comes his way. Right now it might not be a huge deal but I would prefer if he had both his hands free for the tougher games on the schedule.

Coach Jerry Kill said QB MarQueis Gray did not practice Wednesday because of a toe/foot injury he picked up during the week. "(Thursday) will be big to determine if he plays Saturday (at Michigan)," Kill said.

Because I really expected that we'd have MarQueis Gray announcing that Jerry Kill was not at practice.  Seriously, is Jerry Kill good to go?  Fly on a plane, make a road trip to the Big House?  I admire the guy, and wish all the best to Minnesota as a program, but I didn't think he'd be released for this trip.

If I had symptoms that were similar to Coach Kill's, other than being in close proximity to the Mayo Clinic, the only other place that I'd be comfortable travelling to is a place near the University of Michigan Medical Center.

I kinda wish he wouldn't play this weekend, or just see like the first quarter or something. I mean there's no need to aggravate his body over what should be cupcake receivers and QB play. Plus we can get Countess some more reps than if we had our guys on a rotation for the 2nd CB spot

I agree - sit Woolfolk.  We won't need him, unless two or more of our CBs get injured.  Let Avery and Countess get more reps since they're the future of the team anyway.

Really, I think anyone who is banged up should sit this one out, unless that's a crazy number of guys.

doesnt make too much sense to me.
Based on the way the pass heavy attack of last week seemed to favor going after Woolfolk, it might be that Flyod is our best cover corner.

While I realize that its hard to put that sentence into context, but Woolfolk got beat, not so much over the top but underneath, a few times last weekend

That might be a lingering ankle issue maybe not. But either way, id rather have countess and floyd with avery at the Nickel to let Troys ankle heal for MSU.

not to be a big time h8ter, but I say sitting woolfolk may not be bad at all... I feel like he has not really played up to expectations besides the first hit he made in the wmu game... I'm sure he'll be fine, but I guess I just expected him to be more of a playmaker...seems a lot like courtney avery... always close with his guy in coverage, but never really makes the play on the ball...

oddly, JT floyd has looked like the biggest 'playmaker' at corner...

We have placed T-Wolf on this "Shut-Down" corner pedastal that he never should have been on in the first place.  His most effective position was Safety, but we needed his speed at the Corner.  He's never been a playmaker at the position, hell I'm not sure he has more than a couple ints for his career.  However, he's always been a leader and he's at least serviceable at the position. Two things we greatly missed last year.  IMO, he needs to sit out a week and try to get healthy.  If SDSU saw something to make them come at him then you know the rest of the B1G is coming for him
