He brought in Sheed and Larry Brown as a coach and got us that championship in 2004!  He then kept our core together for about 5 yrs too long.  Treated Rip like a POS even though he was an integral part of our success in the mid 2000s.

He's been awful as a GM in the last 8 years.  I mean just terrible and pathetic.

He passed on the Stuckey/Rip/Tay for Ray Allen and Rondo deal.

Traded Afflalo to Denver and picked up Allen Iverson 5 yrs past his prime.

John Kuester, Michael Curry, Lawrence Frank, Mo Cheeks as your coaches he picked.

And passing on Trey Burke was a terrible move.  This team needs leadership and calming PG who doesn't turn the ball over/take stupid shots (cough cough...Jennings....).

Joe D didn't resign Okur as well and gave Josh Smith 48 million over 4 yrs.

But you're right, he's done a lot lately.

I stopped thinking about what the pistons could have had or what they could be two years ago. Now they're just the basketball team that goes along with the Detroit football team. A failure and a joke. They couldn't pay me to watch them play.

What is wrong with you? Why are you arguing like a damned high schooler?

You realize it's not an all or nothing proposition, right? He's done some good things. He's done some bad things.

He's done a lot more bad things the last half decade than good things.

If the Pistons don't make the playoffs this year he deserves to be fired. Hell, I'm leaning towards if he doesn't trade either Josh Smith or Greg Monroe before the trade deadline he deserves to be fired.

Why is it every time anyone takes a wait and see approach on this board as opposed to the reactionary one, you types try to paint us as "apologists" or some other laughable bullshit?

He has some good results that another team will focus on and think he just needs a fresh start.

That stated... it never surprises me how a guy can fail as GM, HC, etc and then get hired for the same position on another team.  I get the guy getting hired after the first hire, but repeated failures should be a red flag.

I get that people wanted Trey, but complaining every time he has a good game is getting a little old. Besides, if we weren't all being homers, we would complain he passed on Carter-Williams, not Trey.

I guess the only way we'll figure this out is to see where these guys are three years from now. Kinda hard to tell how great or terrible a player is going to be 4 months into their careers, dont'ya think? Gee wiz.

I always come to the "Trey in the NBA" threads just to see the KCP supporters vs the Tr3y fans.

Dumars made a mistake on this one. Period. He should have taken MCW or Burke. All the scouring of metrics in support of KCP doesn't change the fact that he dropped the ball(again). But what's done is done. Hopefully KCP can justify being chosen as high as he was and help the Pistons in the future.
