Not to take anything away from the young man, but he didn't really out jump anyone for that ball, it just sort of came right to him. The kid is a suprising performer though. |

| 7 weeks 3 days ago | Saw it on the CBS online feed |
Not sure if you can still get it if you replay the game, but I just left it on my browser and they cut to it after some commercials. Two things I saw: 1. Right before the trophy award ceremony, Beilein is organizing the team and switches the bill of Tim Hardaway's hat from backward to forward. 2. After everyone cut a piece of the net down, Beilein cuts the rest of the net down and climbs down the ladder, whereupon the team forces him to put the net around his neck. Beilein does this for about 2 seconds, starts looking uncomfortable in the spotlight, and gives the net to Hardaway. This team seems like a family. |

| 9 weeks 3 days ago | What time tonight does all the actual selecting happen? |
I've never really watched it the night of before...is it anything like the bowl selection show? Do they announce by region, or seed, or what? |
| 11 weeks 6 days ago | Yeah, but |
Yeah, but some fans are that impressionable. Bandwagoners will latch on to whatever they perceive to be the prevailing opinion. So in that sense, authoring a well-thought counter-point may actually cause some people to chill the f-out. I don't think the OP was expected that everyone would agree with him/stop complaining. But I also don't think you can argue that it's completely futile, at least to people who act based what others have to say. It's probably better to have more than just negative opinions out there, yes? |
| 12 weeks 3 days ago | Well |
There are more contributors, each one being slightly different, so maybe that explains it. But I try not to complain when everything's free of charge. If you really feel strongly about it, just write Brian. |

There's a certain amount of arrogance you display when you imply that everyone thinking that DB has made some missteps with his branding campaign is a blind follower. Not everyone who agrees with Brian falls at his feet. Sometimes people just share the same viewpoint; that doesn't mean they're sheep. Your post seems to ignore that, on an issue by issue basis, people may agree and disagree with one another, even going so far as to form so-called consensus opinions, without invoking the bandwagon effect you seem to abhor. I like some of DB's decisions, and dislike others, for my own personal reaons. Some of those reasons are also articulated by the purveyor of this blog, but because people often share viewpions, assumptions, and processes (i.e. not for the reasons you think.). For example, I have disliked the increased presence of crappy pump-up music and unrecognizable uniforms in our most high-profile games. Personally, I think alternate uniforms should be worn in the least important games. If you're in the minority, sometimes that just means that your opinion is less prevalent than those of the group at large. Doesn't mean everyone in the majority is playing follow the leader. It's lazy to brand the majority as sheep, because it disregards what might be a legitimate and justified weighty opinion in opposition to yours without any fairness of addressing the core of their ideas. That having been said, your post was interesting and it's great to read everyone else's opinions on here. |

| 30 weeks 1 day ago | Borges no like chess |
Why you no like chess? I mean I get not wanting to let the other team force you into throwing when you're not maybe the best at throwing. but if you defiantly stick with a run and it's a predictable TFL then you're passing on 2nd and 12 anyway, right? Why not pass when you have a chance to defeat the run blitz? Seems like the odds of executing that pass are better than 2nd/3rd and long. I hope this is more a function of Denard's comfort or some other aspect of this game/team than Borges's stubbornness, because it's going to be tough sledding against elite teams with that kind of attitude. |
| 31 weeks 7 hours ago | What about the slot guy? |
Does the openness of the slot guy bother anyone else? I know this shifts the focus somewhat away from what actually happened (a run), but it looks like when Kovacs runs over to cover the slot guy, said guy has a good 7-8 yards to run a hitch or quick slant. Is this something that a better QB will check into? It looks like once he has the ball in the video there's still plenty of cushion to work with. Is our coverage always this soft? Is this standard cushion when we "know" it's going to be a run? I would think we would press a little. |

...I bet you'll see the offense try to grab a big lead early, then switch to a more conservative time and football possession oriented set of plays. Unless of course every game is a shoot-out in which case yee-haw! |

"It's not because they took a swing at Michigan's program. It's because they were blatantly dishonest in doing so." I think reasonable people would agree with the above statement. |

...sleepers will pan out, and some of the stud recruits will pan out. It's really a guessing game until they get on campus and compete with the rest of the team. Most of the 'blind RR supporters' seem to be saying "I trust the coaches" or "if the coaches think he's good that's good enough for me", which is very different from commanding someone to "trust the coaches". If you don't want to trust the coaches, fine. If you do, fine. Feel free to express your own opinions. But either way, we're in the same place until these kids show what they've got in practice or a game. I don't see how that makes RR support blind by default Also, given that these recruits won't be on campus for another year or more, the only thing i would be preaching is patience (not that you were being preachy or anything). |
