And slow to 94 on Saline.
September 10th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
Wont be there until 4. Any suggestions on where I should look to park?
September 10th, 2011 at 1:24 PM ^
And which direction are you coming from?
September 10th, 2011 at 1:25 PM ^
Lansing is about as close as you'll get haha
September 10th, 2011 at 1:27 PM ^
I am in a hotel in Livonia waiting for a friend of mine. I dont mind walking, but id like it to be a reasonable distance if possible. I parked in someones yard last yr and that was a perfecr distance.

From Plymouth road, and take side streets through the medical campus. Not sure any near lawns will have anything by 4. Might try the neighborhoods north or east of campus, and walk through campus. South, Northbrook off Saline south of Busch's but north of Eisenhower is just off 94, but a 25 minute walk...and if the Church parking is already filling up, it'll hit the next side street, then the open lots, and fade back onto there after that. Pretty sure west will fill up fast, and you're coming from the other way.

I don't think you're going to have a short walk.

Thanks guys.

i live in the woodland mews complex behind the new whole foods, they have guest spots, as long as you arent in a driveway or under a carport you can park there for as long as you want

"I am in a hotel in Livonia...don't mind walking..."
When I first read that part, I was thinking, he better leave right now to make it.
September 10th, 2011 at 2:43 PM ^
Ya I could make it to next weeks game if I was walking from Livonia. Lol
September 10th, 2011 at 3:59 PM ^
You could have done it. Livonia to Ann Arbor is around 25 miles. Average walking speed for an adult male is 3.5 MPH, but assuming you are a relatively fit person, you could increase that to 4 MPH. Thus, if you left at 1:30pm you would have made it in time.
All that said, I get excited every time I find a close parking spot and save walking another 50 feet.
September 10th, 2011 at 4:36 PM ^
Why would you assume he's a relatively fit person?
September 10th, 2011 at 1:16 PM ^
where else is there to park by pioneer ?
September 10th, 2011 at 1:19 PM ^
Houses and the one church are the only places i can think of by pioneer
September 10th, 2011 at 1:44 PM ^
If you're on S. Main headed towards the Stadium, you can usually find parking in the neighborhoods off of Scio Church (left turn at traffic light opposite the golf course).
September 10th, 2011 at 2:13 PM ^
This is where I always parked when I had season tickets two years ago. It's the neighborhood near Scio Church and 7th I believe. Not too far of a walk.
September 10th, 2011 at 1:25 PM ^
And to think we are still 7 hours to kickoff!! Gonna get so much worse
September 10th, 2011 at 1:28 PM ^
go beyond the church heading towards I-94 there is another field area betwern two apartment complexes but that too is filling up.
September 10th, 2011 at 1:33 PM ^
They'll be working their way down to my street soon.
September 10th, 2011 at 1:28 PM ^
Yeah those frat tail gates are pretty good at backing it up.
September 10th, 2011 at 1:37 PM ^
The last few times I've gone to a game I've parked within a four-block radius of Main and Huron. It obviously doesn't work if you want to tailgate, but if you just want to park it's great. Cheap, easy, and a pleasant walk down Main to the stadium.
September 10th, 2011 at 1:55 PM ^
The traffic in Ann Arbor is bad on a game day? Surely you jest.
September 10th, 2011 at 2:00 PM ^
Drive on in at 5 am next week, and see if you notice any traffic.
September 10th, 2011 at 3:01 PM ^
The late opening of some lots, the rain, no parking at the golf course have people unsure of what they are doing or where they should go. I just encountered some moron trying to head the wrong way down a one way street in a neighborhood off Stadium as I was taking my son to practice.
September 10th, 2011 at 2:50 PM ^
Can I still get a spot at Pioneer if I have a season parking pass?
September 10th, 2011 at 2:58 PM ^
Industrial is flowing well and there are still a few parking spaces in the lot at Cubs/Benny's and that series of construction places across the street. $30 close to Stadium, down to $10 closer to Eisenhower.
September 10th, 2011 at 3:32 PM ^
and had no traffic at all
September 10th, 2011 at 3:52 PM ^
There is parking here right across from the Farmers Market. Only 10$ and its a little over a mile away. Not bad I guess.
September 10th, 2011 at 3:54 PM ^
I've already heard and seen two different accidents.... leaving going to be an absolute mess... Pioneer is a mud pit.
September 10th, 2011 at 4:08 PM ^
My friends just parked on the 9th hole of the golf course
September 10th, 2011 at 4:15 PM ^
94 wasnt bad @ noon, but agree that Pioneer is a no go and find a random tailgate for this week.
September 10th, 2011 at 4:30 PM ^
Stops charging at 6pm. Park at a meter now, put some quarters in, walk away.
September 10th, 2011 at 4:36 PM ^
A 2 hours or greater meter.
September 10th, 2011 at 4:41 PM ^
Down to Eisenhower side streets.
