I get a little tired of watching the typically grainy high school film reels, so these and the all star games are great. Admittedly, I also want to find out what all the hype surrounding James Wilder's about

Plant has looked very sloppy.  Couple of penaltys and turnovers after scoring on the games first play.  Posada looks great at times and at other times he's looked lost.  Either way after hearing the Manatee fight song i'm rolling with Plant.

Was it me or did Posada get switched over to RT after their 2nd series?? I thought for sure he started at LT and then moved over for whatever reason.

Other than that I can see where some say he has to work on his pass blocking. Looks like he has somewhat short arms though, anyone else see that??

EDIT: Good lord that back up looks terrible, no doubt he is nervous but jeez man that is just bad!!

In Florida, you get additional points added to your GPA for taking honors and AP classes. You get .04 per semester of an honors class and .08 per AP class. Taking AP tests is free so kids can take as many as they want and Plant is a wealthy school so they offer pretty much every AP class available. You probably read his GPA right, and for what it's worth, 6.3 is still quite impressive even with the Florida GPA system.

I went to high school in Florida but our "weighted" GPA scale was as follows:

Regular class A- 4.0

Honors class A- 5.0

AP class A- 6.0

This means the highest one could get is 6.0 in my system. The "unweighted" GPA is often the one seen by colleges and is the normal 4.0 scale. However I've seen quite a few different one in the S. Fla. area.

...Brennen Beyer is tearing it up tonight:

varsityblue At the half, Brennen Beyer's Plymouth Wildcats lead Salem 35-0. Beyer has 2 rec for 43 yds and 2 TDs, punt block TD, and 3 QB knockdowns.

The last couple of plays, Posada has been pretty slow out of his stance and with his feet, but he's got a pretty good punch, a couple of defenders have ended up on their backs.

Watched the whole thing, here's what I gathered.

Posada is pretty athletic for a 6'6 325 high schooler. When he's trying hard, thinking straight, and knows what he's doing, he's effective in pass blocking and fairly dominant in run blocking. However, he got winded, frustrated, and looked lost in his blocking responsibilities sometimes. As it was noted multiple times in this thread, he played everywhere on the line, but looked most at home on the right side. His arms aren't nearly long enough to play left tackle. In the second half, he was getting nasty, dirty, and looked like he had lost his self-control at times, including a play where he, after the whistle, crossed his arms and dropped his full 325 pound frame on a DE he had pancaked, yielding a penalty flag. A redshirt and a few years of Barwis should yield a competent Big Ten right tackle.

that's perfect for an O-Lineman. We don't want Betty Grable out there protecting our QB's. OK now it's obvious I'm blogging while drunk as well. Is this legal? Anyhoo... If he's got short arms, maybe he could be trained as a guard? I still like that he pancaked a few people. That's what you want to see all day.

They looked terrible in their first game against Armwood two years ago, but ended up winning it all, including a rematch with Armwood in the playoffs.  I don't think Weiner likes to show a lot of his playbook in games like this one.  This team always looks better later in the season, or at least has for the last five years.

I hope they are on TV again later in the year, but I think the only other game that will be nationally televised is the one against the highest-ranked team in Texas and it is on the road.
