Tom Brady set another GOAT record last night

During the go ahead drive last night, Tom Terrific passed the Heisman Trophy runner up (from TN) for most passing yards in regular season and play-offs combined.  Drew Brees  owns the all-time regular season passing yardage mark.

In the process, Brady became the first QB with over 80,000 passing yards.

A short passing leader list is in the link: https://boston.cbslocal.com/2018/11/05/tom-brady-sets-new-nfl-record-passing-peyton-manning-most-all-time-yards/

Sidebar - Did anyone see the real goats with Brady and Rogers jerseys?  The Brady goat was giving the Rogers goat massive head butts!

I also saw that Brady is something like 20-11 going head-to-head against false GOATs and GOAT imitators (Manning, Brees, Big Ben, Brees, Rodgers). Everyone else was hovering around .500 or worse. Maybe the most meaningful stat in the GOAT debate.

I think it is bullshit that the 'all-time leader' categories in major sports ignore the playoffs.  The only defense of this I hear is, "A player is not responsible for how good his team is."

Let's take it a step further.  Since it is unfair to count playoff games because Drew Brees didn't get to play in as many as Tom Brady, I think it is unfair to count dropped passes against the quarterback.  Since a player is not responsible for how good his team is, he shouldn't be responsible for dropped passes.  Let's go back and add in dropped pass yardage.  On the flip side, how can a quarterback be responsible for YAC yardage?  Let's remove that.  And since the offensive line is responsible for keeping the QB upright, let's weigh in sacks somehow.

Why are playoff games the logical breaking point?  Barry Sanders would have had thousands more yards than Emmitt Smith if he played behind the same line.  If a game counts, it counts.  It's stupid to suggest Brady doesn't have the most yardage unless you suggest that the postseason is just an exhibition.

Babe Ruth (and many NYY from several eras) played in dozens more post-season games than their peers. But the regular season was the same length for all of them (until it wasn't!)

You can measure regular & post-season stats separately AND combined to get fuller measures of accomplishments.
Which is, I believe, what's being done here?

I think the contention is that the default is regular season only, and that the post season record is the secondary accomplishment.  I didn't see Tom Brady hugging his kids last night, nor did the refs give him a fucking plaque.  Sorry, still think that was a stupid thing to do in the middle of a game...

The opposite should be true.  The main records should include postseason, and the secondary records should be a consolation prize for those that weren't able to play in meaningful postseason games.
