Today's Schedule of Games

The Big Ten is back Baby!  Strange as hell, but back nonetheless.

At noon: Be careful what you ask for Nebraska . . . you may get it.  Also, the Axe Bowl - Rutgers at MSU.  Not a 4-digit SAT score to be found anywhere.  NC State at UNC will get chippy.

In the afternoon, PSU at Indiana could be a week 8 trap game . . . even though it's the first game.  Notre Dame at Pitt could expose the fizzling ND hype.  Iowa State at THE other OSU will be interesting.  Is ISU becoming the new rags-to-riches Kansas State?

In the evening: The longest absence of Michigan football in our lifetimes is over!  Quemar Los Barcos!  For my mental health, I'm approaching this game like the Spring Game we never had: Let's see what we have here.  Because we really don't know for sure.  C'mon Speed in Space.

Also in the evening, Cincinnati at SMU is a legit game.  South Carolina at LSU could take the last shine off the "genius" of Coach O.  Turns out Joe Burrow could make anybody look like a genius.

Good slate of games.
Some solid upsets are really possible today: I think Schiano is a much better coach than Tucker and the MSU roster is awful - Sparty should be concerned.  PSU is over rated, but Indy will need some turnovers to win. Norte Dame actually plays a road game and I think Pitt wins. Auburn is shaky and Kiffin will dial up some O today.

Just overheard in our house:

K1: "We would only root for Ohio State if they were playing against the demonic realm."
K2: "No we wouldn't. That'd just be an intrasquad scrimmage."

Sparty NO!

After a classic Sparty No fumble to set Rutgers up on the 1 yard line, the Sparty defense holds...until an MSU DB decides to tackle an RU receiver on what would have been barely a catchable pass. Rutgers up 14-0.

Rutgers is still bad. It took them 5 plays to gain 1 yard. But...Sparty No!

I know it's soooooo early, but OSU not passing the Bama/Clemson level elite eyeball test.

They don't look quite as dominant up front on either side of the ball.  That said, I'm sure they put up 60 on us in the game.
