Not the most compelling matchups tonight, but it is football nonetheless:
7:30 PM - TCU vs. Texas Tech on ESPN
7:30 PM - Troy vs. Arkansas St. on ESPNU
7:30 PM - Tulane vs. Louisiana Tech on Fox Sports 1
Kliff Kingsbury may be the coolest coach ever. Solid F bomb after the 1st touchdown.
an MF bomb, to be more precise.
That's the second time they've made fun of Brady Hoke's weight on the air.. Busch league
How did he come up?
To the coaches from "Michigan and Kasas"
TCU has managed a smidge under 20 yards of total offense in their first couple drives, with only six of them being passing yards. Texas Tech ends up with good field position thanks to the illegal formation penalty on the punt too.
Baker Mayfield is 8 for 12 for 133 yards and we're not even out of the first quarter. The Red Raiders managing a cool 8.2 yards per snap right now as well.
TCU-Texas Tech it is.
Guys helmet cork screwed on his head, yet no helmet to ml helmet call.
Trevone Boykin had a magnificent slide for that 4th and short, of course. TCU is starting to put up some yards on this drive, really the first semi-coherent one they have had tonight as on several occasions the TTU defense has been more or less having their way with anyone who should find a seam.
Honestly, I expect more from a Gary Patterson team. they look like Sparty (the offensive version)
It would not have occurred to me that Patterson had an inner puntosaur. 4th and 2 and he punts it for a touchback. He gets it back with this INT, but that was some outright Zookian strategy.
The time out wasn't enough time to ream his QB, so he punted to finish delivering his message
Drew Brees ain't no Brett Favre..... when it comes to Wrangler commercials
Sexts a mean dick pic.
Thursdays are so much easier to get through when there is football the night of.
mmmmm beer sounds so good right, but I don't drink when I have to work in the morning, so tomorrow, as soon as I get home, I shall drink.
And drink you shall
Lets get our RUN BLOCK on. Pound it with the new SUPERFROSH RB's.
TCU is playing like hot garbage. Credit to TTs defense, but man this is rough.
Texas Tech and TCU. It's like they're having a contest to see who can throw into triple coverage the most.
I can't decide if I like TCUs helmets or not. They're either sweet or Christmas bulbs.
I prefer that look over the matte finish.
TCU actually managed to return one past their own 20, which is a novelty in this game.
The Frogs have managed to get to midfield, only to get a false start penalty. I could be mistaken, but the TTU secondary has a serious size disadvantage against TCU's receivers and they just can't exploit it much.
How long until there's a gif of that guy ringing the bell? I'll give it 10 minutes.
On an unrelated note, it's so weird hearing Brad Nessler calling the Pats-Jets game.
I keep switching over to Discovery's "The Presidents Gatekeepers". I find it compelling. Stories from guys who played integral parts in every major historic occurrence in the last 50 years.
Don't think it's possible for the refs to blow more calls tonight. Every replay I'm looking and there's literally no foul. No hold, no pi, no contact, but flags.
Less the two rushes for negative yards, Baker Mayfield is indeed responsible for every single positive yard gained by the Red Raiders this evening. He's doing it at about a 5.5 yards per snap pace too.
not intending to be mean, but does Scott Van Pelt have a skin condition? I'm color blind and even I can see he had red, splotchy cheeks. He's in the sun a lot. wonder if he has a condition.
It's a shame. The fox was exactly what TCU's offense was in search of - something with good downfield vision, elusive and a good north-south runner. Why they put it in a box rather than give it a purple helmet is a mystery honestly...
Or is the Big 12 utter garbage this year?
That Dobson kid at MSU last year.........
Brady must be pissed - that's at least 3 he's dropped tonight.
I cannot really tell if this is a game with bad offenses or good defenses. I would love to see the upset though.
These penalties are killing the flow of the game.
Texas Tech with a huge pick.
Well, that's three INTs for Texas Tech and five total for the game. It shouldn't shock anyone that there have been nearly 150 penalty yards in this game as well, something to which numerous oblitterated potentially big plays could speak.
And with that, TCU has managed to repeat its pattern for the evening - 3rd and 8 may as well be 3rd and 800 for the Horned Frogs right now. To top it all off, the FG is no good.
ND Purdue rivalry this weekend where ND leads 56-26-2. Don't miss that memorable rivalry game.
I'm surprised Purdue has won that many. More of a rivalry than I thought.
Flailing your arms around above the shoulder is bush league.
eeeehhhhhh, that was not a fair catch. I think the returner initially wanted to do one, but pulled back. TCU got robbed there.
Disagree, The rule is pretty clear if you raise your hand above the shoulder it is a fair catch. It looked like one of the Texas Tech players peeled off the pursuit once he saw the fair catch.
See NCAA rule 2 section 8 of fair catch rule.
I don't disagree with you. I also thought it was an invalid fair catch and thought it should be a penalty. I was just making a point that he clearly made a motion with his arm to make the cover team think he was taking a fair catch.
Right there ouch!
It's a muscle strain or whatever Hoke called it
Of course this would occur in this game.
Second time I've seen this.
Plus 1 to Kingsburry for not overreacting.
