Of all the beers you could recommend, you are going with Coors? Don't get me wrong, to each his own but damn, "you shouldn't a done dat, he's just a boy!"
September 6th, 2012 at 9:10 PM ^
Just trying to help. I just found out about Coors Light - I spent a number of my drinking years messing around with IPAs, microbrews, etc. If only someone would have shown me a little earlier.
September 6th, 2012 at 9:16 PM ^
Yeah, I'm not ashamed to say I went through a phase where I drank only natty light. Granted it was late HS / early college, but it was highly economic. And I still had a good time.

By the way, your input is much appreciated, and so is corundum's. I know everyone's taste is different, but I'm still interested.
September 6th, 2012 at 9:01 PM ^
Or elsewhere? That info would help everyone greatly.
September 6th, 2012 at 9:09 PM ^
Oh hey, I apologize, I'm in Ann Arbor.
September 6th, 2012 at 9:15 PM ^
Anything Bells, obviously. I would try some of the Goose Island Belgian Ales, Matilda is pretty damn good. New Holland is good, especially Dragon's Milk. Don't be fooled by where it's produced, Great Lakes makes incredible beer; Commodore Perry and Dortmunder Gold are my favorites. Someone said Dogfish Head, and I second that, India Brown Ale is an absolute must. I don't know how available it is in Ann Arbor, but there's a Wisconson brewery called Tyranena. They make a scotch ale called Sheep Shagger, it's incredible.
If you want to drop some change, even compared to other craft beer, I'd give Oaked Arrogant Bastard and Double Bastard a try.
Congrats, you just made me really crave that India Brown Ale. It's definitely worth getting it when you can.

If you like wheat beer Hoegaarden is probably the best variety widely available that won't cost you over $10 for a sixer. I definitely prefer it over Shock Top and Blue Moon. If you like heavier beers like an IPA, Dogfish Head 60 Minute is a pretty good place to start. And if you are trying to get hammed, go with Raging Bitch IPA by Flying Dog.

With winter coming, try to work your way into some porters and stouts. Young's double chocolate stout, Arbor's espresso love and Rogue's shakespeare oatmeal stout are some of my favorites. I had a left-hand milk stout last week that was fantastic too. Cool thing is, especially in winter, they're great sippers at room temp and you don't have to plug up your fridge.

Hacker-Pschorr Weisse for me. First time I've had it and it's damn delicious.
September 6th, 2012 at 8:47 PM ^
Between the sack parade and having no offensive line to speak of, Tino Sunseri managed to get 26 passing yards in the first quarter, most of it on one pass. His -24 yards of rushing stands out too.

So ESPN3 is blacking out all the games now that are available on ESPN. How is someone without cable suppose to watch the Michigan games?
September 6th, 2012 at 8:52 PM ^
Once they started to get good games, ESPN was the reason I had to get cable. I get ESPN and ESPN 2, but unfortunately, ESPN 2 doesn't put anything worth watching on. Won't Michigan be on the Big Ten Channel, even the Massachusetts game?

You can't
September 6th, 2012 at 9:04 PM ^
I'm in Toronto. Last year we changed cable packages and I screwed up the selection, so I had to watch the stream for two games. Also the Lions Monday night game.
You can get a couple of decent radio streams pretty easily, though.

Watching the Trotwood-Madison game and they interviewed someone on the sideline that just said there are rumors of Mike McCray decommitting and looking at OSU...
September 6th, 2012 at 9:07 PM ^
Someone? Just some random Ohio fan, or someone who might know?
September 6th, 2012 at 9:15 PM ^
I think he is just a reporter of Ohio high school football...after the interview the announcer said Trotwood's coach denounced the rumors and McCray isn't going anywhere. The reporter was probably a OSU guy and wanted to stir up some controversy since the majority of people watching are OSU people...
September 6th, 2012 at 9:19 PM ^
Yeah, that's kind of what I figured. People have been trying to spread that rumor for a while.
September 6th, 2012 at 9:09 PM ^
Would anybody actually be surprised?
September 6th, 2012 at 9:06 PM ^
"Unthunk himself" was just said. Nice.

When you have three SEC educated guys (none of which are from Vandy), those things are bound to happen.
September 6th, 2012 at 9:12 PM ^
I couldn't believe it when it happened. Knowing that, now it makes sense.
September 6th, 2012 at 9:12 PM ^
....on what can only be described as an innovative throw, and then there is holding, two stops and an interception by the Bearcats. You would have thought it was difficult to talk yourself out of that situation, but Pitt found a way.

You know that they're itching to say "Leviticus Payne".

Another day, another appearance by the the "D-(picture of fence)" sign. Will it ever lose popularity?

As long as they are selling on ebay for $10.99 buyitnow.
September 6th, 2012 at 9:48 PM ^
I almost feel bad for the Panthers, to be honest...
19:39 minutes of possession, 7-12 on third downs, 206 total yards of offense, 10 first downs, zero points. The keys so far might very well be the turnovers and the penalties that talked them right out of the endzone.
September 6th, 2012 at 9:55 PM ^
That pre-half time fail drive was epically inept.
September 6th, 2012 at 9:59 PM ^
To be fair, Sunseri threw a great short-yardage field goal to end the drive. I think you take that sort of momentum into halftime if you're on the losing end of a 17-0 game.

Announcer says of Pitt: "they are creaming them"
Jeebus.
September 6th, 2012 at 10:21 PM ^
Pitt is not a good tackling team.
September 6th, 2012 at 10:25 PM ^
September 6th, 2012 at 10:33 PM ^
....and Pitt allows a delay of game penalty to get off a decent kick, which they in turn catch at the Cincinnati one. To paraphrase Animaniacs, for Pitt's sake, "The end zone will not bite you and throw you in the basement"
September 6th, 2012 at 10:43 PM ^
Well, Pitt sucks like whoa, but Graham is still good.
September 6th, 2012 at 10:43 PM ^
I think Pitt needs more than "Pitt recruiting Victory" and 157 lb monster Cameron Saddler and Paul Chryst's offensive genius.

I wonder what their tone will be like after a long season. Sometimes kids just need to step away from the mic.
