I said it and was not lamebasted.

That said mcaff’s arm isn’t where Shea’s is now. But he’s the future. Catch-22, do you throw the towel in this year (potentially and likely last year with black/collins/DPJ) or do you go with your (likely/presumed) best chance?  Playing mcaff intermittently to hopefully slow the game down for him a bit next year, but not fully giving him the reigns to truly help develop him.

In the end, I’m with Jim.

I don’t think playing Caff when he’s healthy is throwing in the towel. I see no drop off when Dylan is leading the offense, and IMO he has much more upside. And people keep saying Caff is so much behind with his arm but Shea isn’t impressing anyone hit his arm talent, accuracy, or decision making. IMO the threat of a QB who can run is worth the slight drop off in arm talent, if that drop off even exists.

I was just coming specifically to the board to post something on Patterson. I have said for last 12 plus years. A good qb can overcome some limitations. Patterson just isn't that good. Just look at their first two drives. Some isolated plays that tell you why the offense struggles.

2nd and he dumps the ball way over the rb. Was the rb going to get yards? I don't know but it was a pretty easy pass if you review it again. They are drive killers. The 2nd drive Collins runs a poor route but Patterson should understand down and distance and throws it to the guy who was short of the marker.

This is qb 101. Know where the chains are. Make the simple passes. Patterson is just a playground qb.

I hate to bang on the kid. Maybe I should bang on Harbaugh for not coaching these guys up.

Reminds me when under Hoke Michigan would get a turnover in the other team’s territory, go 3-and-out, and settle for the field goal. Really needed a touchdown there.

Not understanding what you guys mean be Patterson looking terrible. He tried to fit it in a window to DPJ and a good defensive play made him throw it high to turner in the flat. He also threw a perfect ball to black.
