Burnie played RB and FB for Michigan from 1989 to 1992. He went undrafted, but in 1993 signed with the Patriots as a free agent and played with them for two seasons.

Didn't Simpkins wear #40 too? I think he played with the Packers for 6 years in the 1980s, but I know he eventually came back to Detroit to coach football at Western International for nearly 20 years as well. He had Michigan's total tackles record until Jarrett Irons broke it in 1996 as well, or so I recall.

Just a little over a month until we are all singing The Victors at The Big House! It is becoming impossible to temper my usual irrational feeling that we will roll every opponent we face. The difference this year is that it is well within the realm of possibility. Harbaugh is building a force of extraordinary magnitude. He has forged his strengths in the path of his ancestors, and he has my gratitude. Go Blue!
