Thanks M basketball for a great season

Submitted by StoneRoses on

Thank you guys for a wonderful season. Lots of great memories. It's a shame that we're not going farther, but all in all, it's hard to look at this season as anything less than a success.

Hoping we can get as many of our guys to return, that way we can have more great seasons to come.

Hold your heads high - this was a great game and it took a contested deep three to knock us out. The effort on the tying possession when we missed three shots but LaVert came flying in for the board and Morgan tipped it in over/with Randle was epic. When McGary went down I thought we were marginal for the Sweet Sixteen. After an epic cruise to the B1G with wins at Breslin, the B1G tourney finals, and the only one of last year's Final Four to make it back to the Elite 8, that's a hugely successful season. Go Blue!

I'm honestly not hurt right now. Disappointed? Yeah, but that will go away. I am completely and utterly proud of how hard my team played this year. Tough loss, but I can't complain. We played our hearts out; Kentucky was just simply the better team. Hats off to them.

As for us, we have nothing to be ashamed of. After losing BOTH Trey and Timmy to the draft, AND MM to injury, they STILL went out and won their regular-season conference title OUTRIGHT, and made their 2nd straight Elite 8 appearance.

Great job, Coach Beilein. Great job, boys. Keep your heads up high.

To our players: JMo, thank you so much for your years of contribution and hard work. You went out playing some truly inspired ball. Gonna miss you, man.

And as for Nik, if this is the end, it's been a pleasure watching you play. Same goes for GR3, too.

As for Big Mitch, I dunno. I can see him leaving, yet I can also see him coming back. Just have to wait and see.

I still feel good for our future. Derrick has grown up in front of our eyes, Caris is gonna be an absolute scorcher, and Zak Irvin is for real. As long as Coach B gets it done year in and year out, the recruits will continue to roll in. This program is still gonna do things and go places.

Thanks for the season, guys; it was a hell of a ride. Till next time we meet, good day, good luck and forever....

Go Blue.

I thoroughly enjoyed the season and the players on the team. I hope they all come back although I realize that is not realistic. Gonna miss J-Mo a ton. Great season wish we could have extended it but getting to the FF is always hard.

J Mo was awesome in the playoffs. He defied all expectations. I couldn't be more proud of how the team fought teams that were more physical in the paint than them.

Not that I hated past teams, but every year I love Beilein's teams more and more. He recruits such quality young men.

Now is the looooong offseason until football. Ugh. Maybe I can catch up on some videogames and double up on some classes.

I'm gonna miss Jordan Morgan, one of my favorite players to ever wear the maize and blue.  He is also one of the most disrespected players by a vocal group of the fanbase, but I've never seen a player work harder and be better at doing only the things they're good at.  Hopefully he gets a shot at the next level.

Yep.  One the best seasons relative to expectations ever.  Incredible year.

OUTRIGHT BIG CHAMPS!!!

Love this team and this coach.  GO BLUE!
