Thank God for the Great Confluence of non-Michigan related panic: Izzo, Texas/Pac 10, Lebron's FA, USC sanctions, World Cup, etc
Even on the heels of the Dorsey-related news, I caught myself going almost all day today without fearing/thinking of/stewing about what the next negative media spinjob concerning Michigan or RR would be.
It's been refreshing to say the least. After shriveling up and starting to burn under the intense spotlight of the past X months, I feel like we might actually get to spend some time under the umbrella of these other issues for a while (at least until season expectations start to fly).
Enjoy it while you can boys and girls, but don't forget where you've set your sunscreen.
over USC's sanctions
distractions in the media continue and overshadow the ncaa hearing.
And that once football season starts, we'll be winning games. We all know that if that happens, no one will care about the rest of this shit as long as it doesn't involve scholarship losses or a post-season ban, which would be ridiculous in our situation.
misery is a dish best shared.
and schadenfreude is delicious.
I was having the same thoughts! Although, part of me does feel like this USC news is not getting the level of media attention it deserves. I feel like if this was happening to UM, the Stanley Cup, World Cup, expansion talk, and Izzo news would all take a back seat for at least a week. With that said, giant smile on my face.
UM got the whole shit sandwich to there selves, USC has alot of cover fire to hide behind.
...Strasmas to your list of media events that helped to push the DD story down the list.
Rosenberg is obviously on vacation. Nothing he can do to destroy Michigan will be heard for at least another week.
Is it just me, or does this summer seem like the biggest sports summer ever? Most years we get champions in the NHL and NBA, plus daily ho-hum baseball games. This summer, though, we have historic events like the perfect (and almost perfect) games, the expansion talks, and the summer of LeBron. Add the World Cup, and I can't think of a more exciting time to be a sports fan, even if you're team isn't playing.
I am still very surprised that the NCAA is going to throw the hammer down on USC. This seems like it has to be a sign of the coming apocalypse. Get your affairs in order people 2012 is coming.
