I am now number 1 in the college pick em! I did really well up until this point last year too until I nosedived the rest of the season. We will see if I can keep it together this year and hopefully stay in the top ten. Also, I usually enjoy noon games but this year my son plays soccer at noon, so it is making it difficult to watch.

Really?  He helmet to helmet smashed a punter after the punter went down and was nearly on his way back up.  Terrible game, lots of reasons to hate the refs that season but how does that not get called?

It's a simple concept in college football: The guy is down = the play is over. And everyone in the stadium - including the referee - can see that he's down.

You don't hit him? Good. Then you get the ball in good field position. Smart.

But you hit him, which gets flagged. Now they get the ball back and you're out for targeting. You've just hurt your team in two different ways. Stupid.

Coaches in every sport are always harping on their players to "play smart." Plays like this are why.

When I worked in the ad industry many years ago, I was on a business call when I realized that the rep on the other end of the line was THAT Rob Houghtlin. Once the business part was concluded, I mentioned that I was a Michigan grad, so I hoped he wouldn't mind if I told him that I hated his guts.

He laughed heartily. He said he'd been reminded many, many times over the years, and he always enjoyed hearing it.

For a guy who tore the heart out of my chest, he was very nice about it ... the bastard.

Found out I passed the bar exam yesterday. Walked out of the exam certain that I failed, but passed by a wide margin. Still very relieved and very happy I don't have to do that again. Happy Friday y'all!

Kept the kid home from school today so we can go to the VA State Fair this afternoon, and stop by King's Dominion for Haunt.  Haunt is KD's halloween extravaganza, complete with 4 or 5 'scare zones' of differing themes (monsters, zombies, spiders, etc...).  Thankfully, none of the scare zones include a Michigan dong punch theme, because that would be horrifying and cause me to never visit KD again.
