Because if Mercer wins they will be talked about all week. We then get to hear about them upsetting us and getting to Elite Eight. I don't need head games. Though our coaches should have the guys focused in regardless. Been a weird year as last year we played every high seed we could.

Quite a few people were worried about Texas, but JB was ready for everything they threw at us. I have faith in him and this team. Between the two , I hope we face Mercer.

Ask me tomorrow at halftime of their game.

But I'm leaning Tennessee. Mercer looked GOOD yesterday. I never got the vibe that they were putting on an unrepeatable performance.

Mercer  Mercer Mercer Mercer Mercer Mercer

81st in Kenpom or 7th.  77th in sagarin or 20th. This isnt even close.  I think we know Tennesse isnt quite the 7th best team in the country, but theyre atleast top 25. The gap is pretty large between the two teams.

Obviously it would be better to play Mercer. The only way you could argue that Tennessee would be the better matchup is if you were scared of our guys not playing well against Mercer but I trust Beilein to make sure their ready to play.

Either one is fine by me.  I actually think Mercer is the better matchup because these cinderella teams tend to struggle once a team has a week to prepare, while UT seems a bit more athletic and has played enough tough games recently to be on a bit of a roll.

Tennessee has significantly better offensive rebounding and defense.  Teams that are good at offensive rebounding are Michigan's biggest problem, outside of Texas which looked like 5 tall football players trying to play basketball the way they were shooting.  I doubt Tennessee will shoot that badly.

Kinda cool story bro. I live in and around the Macon area. I work for the Macon-Bibb fire department and was stationed at hq which covers Mercer's campus. I've been in and around that place so many times. It would be really cool to see Mercer win and make it to the Sweet 16 and face Michigan. Everyone around here was so pumped up about that Duke win, it would be nice to see it go one more game. Even for them to hang around and lose by single digits to Michigan would be great for the city.

I like the unknown factor! Much more exciting. Tennessee has been on TV a lot lately, and they should have lost to Iowa anyways#
