It's a state-wide requirement under that new law they passed or something. I would think you are right, although MTSU is in Murfreesboro, not Memphis. And it is Memphis State that became THE University of Memphis. But still, I’m sure you’re right and it is a MTSU game watching party.

I lived in Memphis 1999-2001 and wondered about this then so I looked up the listing in the phone book. It was, "University of Memphis State University." And no consciousness-altering substances were involved in the reading of that phone book.

What is going on here: There is a bar in Telluride called The Brown Dog that is owned by a former Michigan player. I remember stumbling in there years ago and seeing Michigan football photos on the wall. Apparently this is an invitation to watch the game there Saturday.

I organize a Wolverine gathering at the Brown Dog in Telluride every year and it's surprisingly well-participated given the small local population, however, it always coincides with the Telluride Film Festival.

Love Telluride. I went once on a business trip 15+ years ago...the skiing was excellent, the town was fun, and it was down to earth unlike other luxury mountains/resorts. Yeah, the place has wealth, but it wasn't in your face. (Although maybe that's changed since I was last there.)
