Stream for Wisc game?

Submitted by dahblue on

Anyone have a link for a good stream?  Yesterday, some kind folks posted a great high-quality stream for viewing on the VLC player.  I know a stream is available via espn.com, but the quality is terrible.  Of course, poor quality makes our dogshit zubaz uniforms less offensive...

Any help is much appreciated.

Anyone know how to up the video quality on WatchESPN?

I have one "bar" of quality, nothing else really running on my machine.  It's like watching 64 colored pixels move around a screen.

In a way, I'm glad to hear you guys are also having issues with the WatchESPN quality. It's been terrible for me even during the regular season, but I thought the problem was with my internet (I get 15 MBPS though, so I didn't think that should be a problem). I'm beginning to think the issue is with ESPN?

I don't know if this will work for everyone, but I have found that the quality on watchespn is inversely proportional to the number of applications/browser tabs I have open.  If I shut everything else down and refresh the ESPN stream a couple times I usually end up with really good video.

Aren't being streamed--they're not the same commercials you'd be seeing live, so they've been pre-downloaded which is why they're of higher quality.

I don't know if everyone else is getting the same commercials I am, but I'm watching the game at a computer in the front of a classroom while my students are taking a test, and I'm a little concerned that the Calvin Klein ad will be up when someone comes up front to turn the test in.

If you don’t already have a  VLC player, you can go here to download this player (this is free and has NO ads or pop ups.)

When you have this up, copy and paste the link.  Will need to have someone update the ESPN link.

Just open up VLC player > Media > Open Network Stream > Paste > Voila!

The stream is actually extremely good quality (Not HD, but not crappy internet stream either). This is also a 24/7 stream, so its around the clock working.  Good luck...and Go Blue!

Another hint... Rather than clicking the link, "right click" on it and copy the link address

Oh, I get it.  I saw the thread title and I thought maybe you were referencing your urine flow.  I was going to suggest you drink plenty of water and call your doctor.

It looks like you have your question answered, though.

Wish I could say the same, damn.  BTN2Go did wonders for me yesterday.  Got my boss to let us put the game up on the projector this afternoon though, so that'll be nice even if we can barely make out the ball.

Bonus: camo uniforms won't show up on such low quality video.  That works, I guess.

i feel like an idiot, but i have yet to figure out how to use BTN2GO.  "click and drag a game from the score strip into this window"  I'm trying..but it isn't working.  hopefully WatchESPN isn't "blacked out in my area" like it usually is because i am sick of firstrow's laggy streams

I either click 'BTN Live' or I search for Michigan vs. Opponent and click that game, doesn't ever make me drag or anything, just boots right up.  Today's game isn't on BTN2Go though, they're only doing the replay at midnight.  Gotta find it on ESPN (WatchESPN) or other.

There is a link to watch on ESPN via the M GO Blue website - if you go to schedules, MBB, the floating box on the right side has links for game tracker, listen and watch ESPN.

I've done all the steps but I just get that construction cone thingy (vlc player). Does the stream not start till just before the game?

The VLC player says it can't open the MRL. Also, ESPN and BTN2GO doesn't provide free coverage to an AT&T network. Does anyone know of any solutions? I moved into a new house and I don't have cable.

If someone can't get ahold of a feed, the first person (slingbox only allows one) to email my username at gmail dot com will get an invite to watch the game stream. Hurry I'm heading to connors!

So I have the WatchESPN app and I logged in through Comcast (Internet only, not TV) and I am getting a pop-up that says "This network is not included in your current television subscription". Since when do you need to purchase Comcast TV to watch ESPN3, I thought paying for the internet was enough? Is anybody else having this issue?

Edit: Nevermind, after some research I found that the is a recent change.

I've never been able to get the free streams to work on the WatchESPN app for iOS/Android. But, it does work on watchespn.com on a computer or on the Xbox 360 app.
