Steve Lorenz Ballz Jaydn Davis to Michigan

Another positive and significant anecdote for the good guys. Lorenz has Ballz'd David to Michigan with a confidence level of 7 (which is pretty high for those that don't follow Crystal Ballz'ing) along with Sam Webb earlier in the week.

Tea leaves are looking real good for Michigan!

Penn State and Notre Dame are cleaning up with recruiting visitors in down week games. We are getting limited interest.

I'm putting this here to ask those actually in the know... What gives. We are hosting players ranked in the 1000s this week. And not many guys overall.

Illinois is boring maybe, but psu is playing Rutgers. And ND is playing bc.

I thought by now a 10-0 season would bring people back after the Harbaugh flirtation.

Again, just asking why such limited interest at this stage. Excited about Davis

It's been rehashed ad nauseam, but the cliff notes version is Harbaugh's serious look at the NFL along with significant staff turnover after the end of last season, paired with Michigan's initial NIL approach hurt them considerably with high profile recruits in the 2023 class.

Their 2024 class is shaping up to be very, very good once again and all signs point to Davis being the crown jewel of that class.

2023 may end up being an outlier in terms of class prestige, but this staff has demonstrated they can identify talent with the best programs in the nation. I think it's a safe bet a few of these kids will significantly outplay their recruiting rankings a la Hassan Haskins, Ronnie Bell and plenty others.

Don't think there is any reason to believe Michigan won't have the players they need to compete 2 or 3 years down the road.

As a quick aside, not totally related to this comment thread, I was thinking how the 2023 class seems to correlate pretty closely to the 2018 class.. and the comparisons are scary close to exacting:

Not insignificant to note the 2018 class were the seniors on last year's B1G championship squad. Certainly that's no guarantee the 2023 class will do the same, but I do think it underscores the notion of not overreacting to individual class rankings. That class had multiple lightly recruited prospects that have turned into NFL caliber or draft worthy players.

Getting high profile recruits is important for sure, it doesn't mean some of the lower prestige prospects can't develop into excellent players as well. Harbaugh and staff know what good football players look like.

Hooray for sanity and reality!!!

There is lots and lots of under-rated talent out there running under the radar. And what should be very clear, but also seems to be flying under the radar, is that this coaching staff is elite at developing talent. (Elston, Moore, Hart and Clinkscale-elite!!!) The likelihood that Michigan picks up 5 significant, end of the year, recruits to close out the '23 class is very high. Plucking late-rising gems from the HS senior class has some excellent benefits...star-gazers be damned.

Indications are that Jadyn Davis is coming aboard to headline and lead the '24 class. If he can facilitate this class like JJ did his the ball will keep rolling.
