Stanley Cup Finals Game 7
You have to love the respect hockey fans show the Cup - even when the visiting team locks up the Cup, no one leaves early. You stay & honor the most beautiful trophy in the world.
The one thing all hockey fans share: hatred for Bettman.
All the fans are doing is booing. Go Home Sore losers!
They're booing Bettman, not Boston.
They were chanting "Boston Sucks" at the end. They were also booing Tim Thomas. I sadly remember when pit won in joe louis and majority of the people left with their heads down like I would have done.
CBC said the chant was 'Go Canucks Go'. Also note that the only booing that's occurred coincided with when Gary Bettman had a microphone on....And if you aren't compelled to boo Gary Bettman, there may be something seriously wrong with you.
So it must be true.
It is a hockey tradition to boo Gary Bettman because he's awful. It has nothing to do with Boston, trust me.
They chanted Bettman sucks and were still booing Bettman. No disrespect to Boston what so ever
I think it was "Bettman sucks!" not Boston sucks. I did not like Vancouver but I have to give props to the Vancouver fans for emphatically booing Betmann while being respectful to Boston.
Great job Vancouver fans for upholding the tradition of booing Bettman as much as possible.
Agreed and they really took it up a notch. I could barely hear Bettman talk. How cool.
Does the booing of Gary Bettman ever get old?
I'm gonna go ahead and say no.
He also did more pointing during the presentation than Hoke ever has
and Canuck hater (worst fans ever, cheap asshats like Burrows, etc). All I can say is Thank God!
I just watched a guy I knew in high school win the Stanley Cup and the Conn Smythe! I think that's pretty damn cool.
Happy to see Boston win. Would have not wanted Vancouver to win the Cup when they got beat 8-1 and a few other games by 4 goals or so. Really feel for Ryan Kesler. I think he has been the best player on Vancouver this year. Got a Dallas and Boston win. Good ending.
Upset fans start fire in Vancouver. Cars have been flipped over. But they would never boo Boston.
Yeah I saw the rioting video just now on the news. But I can promise you they were not booing or chanting anything tirades Boston it was all directed at Bettman
I heard booing. I heard it loud at Bettman and agree with that. But also heard booing while certain players had the cup. They cheared while Canadians held the cup. It seemed to me that there was more booing going on then just at Bettman. I will say I really don't care that much. The only bad thing about it is after the game is over there was a lot of booing which ruins it for people watching at home. It was an excellent series.
It is so much better to see a team finish off a series at home so the fans are celebrating with the players
But the players and home fans can have fun at the parade if they win it away. I went to the Detroit parade. Great time.

haha. And there fans don't deserve it. Go Burn a couch. That will make you feel better.
Bad time to have good parking.
Go America!
That this thread might have been the greatest reclamation project I've ever seen on MGoBlog. Thank you all who participated in turning it from disastrous to productive.
THE ULTIMATE THREAD SAVE
This is the greatest thing I've felt. This is the best I've felt about a championship. To spend it with my friends, that was the most important thing to me.
Also, fuck Menino, but what a great win!
hahaha why fuck Menino? I mean I agree with you but why?
As a Montreal fan I have always hated Boston but in a series where I hate both teams, I found myself rooting for Boston. Perhaps it was because my late Father (who passed away a year and a half ago) was a Boston fan, I'm not exactly sure. It was strange though, rooting for Boston.
Throughout the playoffs I got to remember why I liked Lucic so much while he played junior hockey. Not just his play on the ice, but his post-game interviews portray him in such a different light than one would expect from watching him play hockey. He was like a big 12 year old and you could see he was really loving what he was doing. Contrast that with what you typically see from pro athletes and it was quite refreshing.
Bar none my favorite part of the playoofs though...Seeing Kesler crying after the final whistle. He is a big reason I can't stand the canucks. He has always been a cheapshot artist and I have never been a fan of that guy.
