STAEE ‘Rock Bottom’ Schadenfreude — Oh, the irony of buying donuts to numb the pain from MSU’s 49-donut loss

All they ever wanted was for Michigan to pay attention to them. To focus on them. To hate them as much as they hate us. They poked the bear throughout the Dantonio years and with all the bs with the tunnel incident and their grandstanding with these allegations of sign stealing. They wanted Michigan’s attention and they sure as hell got it.

Be careful what you wish for.

I was glad the commentators actually mentioned this little fact in regard to the Paul Bunyan trophy, MSU was always the one who would parade the trophy around the field like it was the Super Bowl.  For over 50 years, when Michigan won, the trophy was always presented in the locker room home or away but never on the field.  That's why we've never seen a photo of the likes of Anthony Carter, Jim Harbaugh or Desmond Howard posing with the trophy.

I never remember a time where Bo or Gary Moeller mentioned the trophy.  The only time Lloyd ever referenced it was when he would tell the media that the trophy was the ugliest in college football.  There was even a time in the 60's when Michigan won in East Lansing and didn't even bother taking the trophy with them back to Ann Arbor.  It was left on the field, found by a MSU crew worker and MSU ended up painting the final score on it and saved it for the next year's game.

So your poking the bear statement couldn't be more accurate.  When your fan base and school reach THIS level of being insufferable under Dantonio, we're at the point now where every Michigan player wants to pose with Paul Bunyan after victories and parade him around.  Be careful what you wish for indeed.

Nah, PSU travels pretty well. Plus, tickets are fairly affordable, starting at $40 on Ticketmaster; You can even get into the 100 level for about $70. Prices will probably drop anyhow. And it's indoors so you don't have to worry about lousy weather.

AND, PSU fans will be assured of watching their team deliver a beat-down.

Remember this is the same team and coordinators that Mel Tucker was paid $95 million to put together and these Spartan faces were bragging about. I wish Mel was still coach to feel this humiliation. Maybe jerking his way out was actually the less embarrassing path for him.

Mel changes nothing, I've been saying since this summer...this MSU team is ASS.

There's no way around it. Call it overconfidence (it wasn't), call it underestimating (it wasn't)...they just aren't a good program. I said 5-7 this year and that is looking shakier by the day.

They should hire Lance Leipold the day Kansas' season ends, but something tells me their search will mirror the dumpster fire of the program.

Why should Leipold want anything to do with Sparty? The head football coach of Kansas giving MSU the side eye. Hilarious. They think they are a top 25 program? Their big money donors have run for the hills. After being forced to pay Mel most of his money they will be lucky if they can afford to bring in Scott Frost.

Why would the Kansas coach leave a depleted BigXII (Deion will leave for NFL in a year ot two) and instead go be the B team in the state and in a conference where, to get to the conf championship game, you need to be better than all but one of Michigan, OSU, PSU, Wisconsin, USC, Washington, Oregon, and the random popcorn success of Wisky, Iowa, Nebraska and Maryland?
