Spring Game "First Overall Pick" From Defense
The Michigan football team is hosting its annual spring game Saturday afternoon, pitting the "Maize Team" and the "Blue Team" against each other in a clash between teams drafted by the Wolverines' assistant coaches.
And in conducting the annual pre-spring game draft — and revealing the first overall pick on social media — Michigan offered a glimpse into who has impressed coaches lately: Rising sophomore defensive tackle Kenneth Grant.

Remember when we were moving LBs to DT.
We now have the deepest and best group of DTs in the Big Ten.
Remember when we were moving fullbacks to DT?
Remember a Off Wr to Def Back, sounds like a Mike but not the position.
I thought we moved the fullback to LB 1st?
Pretty remarkable how well this roster is currently constructed. I have to pinch myself sometimes. We ain't dreaming. Enjoying all this while it lasts.
Literally I think the only question mark is the second CB, right?
I've learned that it's better to pinch yourself than ask someone else to do it
On a more positive note, I remember when we moved LBs to RBs (Haskins, Mullings).
QB to TE has worked out well on multiple occasions.

If you watch the twitter video, you can see the draft board at the 26 second mark. Looks like Kody Jones is starting Nickel for the blue team, and seems to be an early pick.
Haven't heard that name from spring practice notes so I thought that was an interesting tidbit.

This means that JJ, Blake, & the Don aren’t playing.
Weather looks like shit show for Saturday. I was planning on going but not in rain/30mph winds.
Mason and Kenny going to be a formidable duo.... I love hearing how coaches are focusing on more pass rush from the DT's. I think it can take this defense to the next level which it has been pretty solid already. I am pumped!
I am a bit torn on pass rush from DT. The more aggressive the DTs are at getting up field and choosing a gap to rush, the bigger one of the other gaps for a RB to dart through and get to the 2nd level. Space eaters that hold the line are great for run defense.

Not to mention running QBs taking off and gashing us. Pass rush yes, but lane discipline and situational awareness also, please.
