Shane Morris to wear the famed #7 jersey, J.J. McGrath #46
Per twitter. Quite a number for QBs-
Leach
Henson
Henne
And who could forget the great Spencer Brinton?
EDIT: MOAR jersey numbers per twitter. Incoming kicker J.J. McGrath will wear #46. Really great to see a large contingent of local kids coming to Michigan. Morris from DLS, McGrath from Lutheran North, Hockey's Evan Allen from Henry Ford.
He's going to reinvent the #7.
So, how many "unique numbers" are there at Michigan?
there are a bunch.
Still quite a few, although the irrational numbers were used up during the RR era, mostly on defensive players.
Denseness of irrational football players. No matter how close two players get, you can always fit a Denard Robinson between them.
How about a transcendental number? Transcendental number = transcendent play = awesome.
Has Legends Patc h written all over it.
Here are mine...question, do we allow walk-ons to hold their number over freshman?
bolded = enrolled or confirmed

Also, I wish that I would've noted which players would be keeping their number for HS.
I think Green, Samuelson, Jones, Stribling, Smith, McCray, Kugler, Shallman, Fox and Hill are the guys who I have keeping their HS numbers.
However a few of those guys would be bumping walk-ons to a new number (if that's allowed).
What about Dawson who wore 55 in HS?
I had #71, but #55 is what he wore...it's open.
has what seems a list generated from the players. a few differences - shallman is going to wear 33 for what looks like a pretty cool reason.
Jeebus, I almost forgot how awesome our incoming class is.
Walk-ons will share numbers with scholarship guys. Only the rare few who gain regular playing time (like Kovacs) get the number for themselves.
...they share the same position? Or they're on the same side of the ball?
odd how one year ago DG was 7 and Morris was destined to be 12..
I was ready to comment on the immortality and greatness of Spencer Brinton, but you had already included him. Great job.
I don't see much of a difference between this years home jersey and the Henne jersey, besides the B10 patch. I think you're reaching a little...
And it only took Adidas 4 contract years to come out with that one.
come out with the one Leach was wearing?
It didn't even become Nike until 1978, and even then only made shoes. Leach's unis were probably Champion or Russell or some other old-time manufacturer.
I was wondering if the fellow who thought he looked good in the Nike jersey could tell me that, though.
You apparently can't read. Unless Henne suddenly became Leach.
If your point here is that people are arguing Nike is more traditional to Michigan because they think we've always been with them, a grand total of no one has made that argument.
It took Nike over 10 years to come up with the Henne one. So 4 years for the Denard one doesn't make any sense.
...I think the Henne one looks better. In my humble and correct opinion.
nm - pictures didn't load first time around. Please ignore...
Wilson will...in fact it will be like the Masters jacket where the jersey is handed from a departing senior to the next in line within the locker room. CBS will telecast with Jim Nantz in hushed tones commentating. "Shane has now taken off his #7 legends jersey..."
Isn't his name WIlton?
Speight wears 19
#7 Rocks!
"I don't know what to do with my hands!"
Henne played freshman year
I hope Shane doesn't play freshman year
Leach started freshman year as well.....
