Semi-OT: New Blue Originals - Chandler Nash Goes Blue!

Submitted by boliver46 on

On April 25th, 2015 - my son Chandler Nash committed to the University of Michigan as he came into this world at 3:40pm and immediately signed his LOI.

My fiance' and his mother (an OSU fan), was not altogether pleased by his decision (see embedded video).

We now have 4 OSU fans, and 4 UM fans in our immediate little family...we are in "negotation" for a tie-breaker at some point.

Go Blue Chandler!  :)

Here's the story, of a lovely lady, who was bringing up three very diehard Buckeyes.  They had hair of gold, like their mother's, and were uncommonly respectful of coolers.

Here's the story, of a man named Boliver, who was bringing up three Wolverines of his own.  They were four men*, living all together, yet they were all alone.

Till this one day when the lady met the fellow**, and they knew November Saturdays would be a Charley Foxtrot.  They came together somehow as a*** family, and that's the day they all became the Boliver Bunch.

....

Congrats, sir!  The obvious question being who do you have in mind for wise-cracking domestic?

*Or a mixed bag of men and women, and really 3/4s were kids, but roll with me here ...

**Cue ESPN "without sports, this wouldn't be disgusting" ad with Michigan and OSU fans mashing.

***Dysfunctional, but presumably loving and a good family apart from one half being utterly misguided ...

The day my son was born was the happiest day of my life.  It really doesn't get any better than that.

And shame on you for marrying an OSU fan.  She had better be smart, funny, beautiful and rich.

Thanks!  3 out of 4 ain't bad...just need some $$ and I'll be Golden, Pony Boy!

I was already "hooked" when I found out she was an OSU fan...I tried to get out, but she kept reeling me back in!

(Don't tell her I said that though lol)

Congrats on this wonderful, blessed event.  So you guys were the opposite of the ESPN Commercial - "Without Sports"....

Good Luck on the tie-breaker and hope he or she also wants to GO Blue!

Well then, congratulations to both you and Boliver on the additions to your families as well as the ever-growing Michigan family.

The day I became a dad was one of the happiest yet even though I had every single emotion racing around in my mind in the moment. Almost nine years now after my daughter's birth (and almost eight after my son's), that memory is still clear and still awesome.

Congrats to all the new parents on this board!  I have the same blanket for my son as well.  Luckily for me, the wife, a Fordham grad, has embraced my Michigan fandom totally.
