Ron English/Mike Hart defeat Dan Enos

Submitted by dothepose on

At least two Michigan guys got the better of a former Spartan coach today. Eastern Michigan defeated Central 35-28 today. That is a great win for Ron English and Eastern, I am already impressed that he was able to get this many wins this year for Eastern which is not an easy task.

I was at this game after watching the Michigan game. I plan on moving to scotland tonight and herding sheep, sheep don't watch football, they won't let a team score with under a minute to win for the second straight year on Homecoming. Yay Sheep.

As a emu grad love the win. But was at the toledo emu game last week and that game showed how far emu is back from possible mac champs.  That said they should go to a bowl game for the first time in a very long time.  People in the aa/ypsi area should see emu play (if it doesnt affect a um game, cheap and good time.

I get where you are coming from, and I hate to disagree, but I'm going to have to.

Historically, EMU has not been a good program. The first step is being bowl eligible, which can happen next year (because of the 2 FCS opponents, EMU would need to get to 7 wins, which might be doable, will be tough). Toledo, with the exception of the past 3-4 years, has been a MAC Title contender. The Rockets have also knocked off Big Ten teams, I don't believe EMU has. So I think, at this point, a comparison to Toledo (or other MAC Title contenders) might be a little unfair to the Eagles and their expectations for this year and the coming years.

EMU has developed a very good run game, if they can develop Gillett a bit more, and give him some more targets, I think they can contend in a few years.

0-12 in '09 to 2-10 (two MAC wins) in '10 to 4-3 so far this year. Now, they were 3-9 the year before he started, but he still seems to be on the right track.
