Rob Pelinka Negotiates $200M Adidas Deal

Submitted by BursleyHall82 on

Former Michigan guard Rob Pelinka - the only player who played on both the 1989 National Championship team and with the Fab Five - is now a big-time sports agent. He just negotiated a $200 million deal for James Harden to sign with Adidas.

Dang, man. I'm hoping he can get me a $50 deal with Nike.

great for Hardin and Pelinka, so congrats to them. Rob did great stealing that money from Adidas. This is a Lebron level deal for a guy who, while a great player, has approx. one tenth the impact, publicity and influence of the King.

Besides the beard, I think Harden is also actually a pretty skilled comedic actor (probably second after Blake Griffin, IMO). I know bupkiss about marketing, but I'd have to think that this factors. Kia commercials aren't just effective because Blake Griffin is a well-known basketball player, they're effective because they're actually funny. (Caveat: perhaps they're not effective. Again, bupkiss.)

And, I know that might be high, but humor me.  That's $20MM.

How many other Michigan hoops players pulled that much out of the NBA?  Rice, Rose, Webber, Hardaway, Crawford, Tarpley, Mills, Howard.  Any others?

You may be right but Webber hit NBA superstardon at exactly the right time to make rididculous money and is still earning as an analyst. I think I read somewhere that Webber had made among the most money all time off of NBA contracts alone.

Was he the agent who orchestrated the Carlos Boozer backstabbing of the Cavs about 10 years ago?
