Rest Easy: LaDarius Henderson is Enrolled
There was some concern that LaDarius Henderson (the offensive line transfer from Arizona State who will likely be a starter) might have some issues graduating in time, but he made it and he's officially enrolled as a grad student at the University of Michigan. Our entire portal class is now enrolled - and there's nothing admissions can do to screw us over now.
Phew, one less trip to Ann Arbor Torch and Pitchfork. I can give the credit card a break.
Haha...that store has a twitter account I noticed.
I would only have been concerned if he was a basketball player.
Yes, I assume this means the basketball program will now lose somebody to become a drummer for Spinal Tap.
Nice deep cut.
Now turn it up to 11.
Ok, Bursley. You've officially jinxed it!!!!!!!!!!!
It feels like some in national media are underrating the impact of Henderson. He seems to be completely absent from lists of top transfers, top tackles, and 2024 NFL Draft big boards, when he was a projected early day 2 draft pick this year. If Olu became a Rimington Award Winner and someone considered a steal in the 5th round, then what can someone already considered a high draft pick become under Coach Moore?
I just read an article from, or based on, 247 that ranked him in the top 25 college transfers. I can not however find that list and have seen several that don't include him (or Haussman).
Something tells me that one of the best OL in the Pac-12 will be a good player for O-line U. Going out on a limb here, I know
The 247 article said day *3*, not that I'm complaining.
I could be remembering incorrectly but I thought there was conversation about him being a late first or 2nd round pick prior to him choosing to come to Michigan
I'm a Michigan fan (first) and ASU fan (second). Henderson is the real deal watching him.play in most games.
Was hoping we would get Chip Trayanum too last year, but losing him at ASU to Ohio was a double whammy.
That's not what it was. If that were true he'd have went to NFL. Hes trying to get to 1st or 2nd round, by coming here first.
No, there was absolutely some talk of him being in the top of the 2023 draft. Whether that view was shared by NFL front offices is unknown, and he did get injured and miss a chunk of last season, which could have held him back after early season rankings.
But he was #49 in this mock draft from last August: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2-round-2023-nfl-mock-draft-quarterbacks-dominate-top-3/
And he was #50 in this mock from October: https://draftwire.usatoday.com/lists/2023-nfl-mock-draft-2-rounds-cj-stroud-bryce-young-will-levis-anthony-richardson-will-anderson-jalen-carter/
To say he was a projected early round 2023 pick isn't pure hyperbole.
It included his recruiting grade (87, 3 star) and his transfer grade (93, 4 star, #16 overall).
To answer the question below, yes. There was one (or more) mocks that put him in the late first round.
That's good to hear. Being picked at all is a significant accomplishment.
Oluwatimi was a Rimington Award finalist the year before he came to Michigan, so there was that.
there's nothing admissions can do to screw us over now.
Why on earth would you even speak this into existence. IT'S NEVER TOO LATE. TAKE IT BACK!
I should have mentioned that the link here is to an excellent long-form article.

Yeah, I'm still just gonna wait a bit longer before I celebrate.
Well, at least he didn't fumble. They probably scored on next possession. :)
and there's nothing admissions can do to screw us over now*
*in football for now
So was Najee Harris.
(I kid, I kid, but someone had to say it.)
Terrible title. I thought he died
RIP LaDarius Henderson............'s chances of not being enrolled at Michigan as a graduate student! Yay!
Never any doubt.
Man, I'll bet the Sklar brothers are out-of-their-minds excited about this guy!
there's nothing admissions can do to screw us over now
Careful what you say...that sounds like a challenge!
“…there's nothing admissions can do to screw us over now.”
STFU you bastidge. You’re just trying to piss them off so they try harder. Now they know we know they got caught slacking.
I hate it when I find out that there was something I should have been uneasy about and it gets resolved before I've even had the opportunity to suffer. I try to do so retroactively, but it just isn't the same.
*Wipes sweat off brow*
Sort of throwing down the gauntlet here aren't you? What next? ..."your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries!"
