Resolved: The MGoBlog Banner Subtext Should be Changed to...
...Insane Zealotry.
So, after following the http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/5192338 link in the Semi-OT: Brian explains the origins of MGoBlog Forum topic, we learned that what drives our pied piper to create his hypnotic posts is his "Insane Zealotry" for all things University of Michigan sports related.
In that thread, I offered that "'Insane Zealotry' should be a candidate to replace 'Ok. Inaccurate, but ok.'" and based on how you voted on my post, that seemed to be a pretty popular proposition.
If you agree with me that the time for Vlad's damning faint praise has come and gone, let Brian know with your comments on this thread.
great idea
That, or "The Most Popular College Football Blog in the Universe."
Or, they could even go with "No Fly Zone" since that seems to be the motto of our secondary this year.
The Michigan secondary has been a "Fly Zone" for the past two years and 2006. Don't jump the gun.
I have a friendly amendment/somewhat different idea. This one (IMArrogantO) blends awesomeness on a universal scale and insane zealotry like a perfect Tanqueray and tonic:
The Zoltan Mesko of College Football Blogs.
Yes, the period is part of it. No, nobody would ever fuck with it ever, for fear of obvious and horrid repercussions. Is there a second?
"I had to back up off of it, and set my cup down, Tanqueray and chronic, yeah, I'm fucked up now."
- Dre
I suppose tonic also works. . .
sirs, for proving that poetry thrives.
Pretty sure we must attribute that sentiment to Snoop, though he is referring to Tanqueray and bubonic chronic that Dre himself showed up with.
Or the Wizard of IZ
Dong Punch, Giant Robot
I am ready to return to the regularly scheduled Michigan program next year.
Insane Zealotry will suggest to visitors that the site is heavily biased. I think Brian is level-headed about Michigan sports so I vote no on this proposed change.
If he's worried about what kind of message the tag line sends, "Okay. Inaccurate, but okay" can't be much better. I don't think that concerns him much.
Counterplan: change subtitle to "Insane Zealotry and analysis based on reason"
Benefits of original idea, but with the advantage of not appearing overly-partial.
I still think
A loss will cause me to drive to Mexico at the head of a caravan of escapees, screaming "FOLLOW ME TO FREEDOM."Would be perfect if not too long.
I like "OK. Inaccurate, but ok." Much funnier than Insane Zealotry.
Yes, especially as it's someone else's description of Brian, not his own description of his own site.
football team under major renovation.
project completeion date September 2010
I'm choosing "excuse" instead of "dust".
but thats me.
oUr dust?
I think his zealotry is perfectly sane.
should take from the words of the venerable Al Davis: "Just win, baby." That's all there is left to say about all the controversy and negative press. Ws this fall will cure all.
When Zoltan Mesko punts, Earth's days become shorter
Zoltan Mesko is the left foot up the universe's ass
You are the corn in Zoltan Mesko's turd
"Zoltan, that last punt was kind of short." "Oh yeah? that's not what your girlfriend said"
Michigan football: where the punter has become a demigod
In your title, the word "subtext" should be changed to tag line.
Seeing as how subtext is unspoken, but implied.
Still waiting for the "It's our turn bitches" quote to filter down from one of the players.
...is going to come from that speech (5 minutes well spent, btw), then I propose the following three submittals:
"Giving you the information the experts can't possibly give you"
"Not a coach. And that's actually an advantage."
"Does anyone actually read all this stuff?"
