Reddit CFB Risk
We need help executing our plan! Everyone should at least join if they can. It takes about 30 seconds every morning just choosing an attack/defend option and that's all you have to do for the day. If you want to spend a bit more time and join our discord then that is even better!
If I’m in... I need to maximize impact!!!!
You won't get any spam from reddit. You don't need to link an email to your account or anything. When it asks you to do that just hit the next button. I think it's worth it as the game has turned out to be pretty fun and could get rather intense over the months if we manage to survive.
We decided not to create multiple accounts as that would be cheating. You can't clone a soldier and send him to the battlefield twice.
FYI, r/CFB is horrendous now. It used to actually be one of the best places to talk about the national college football landscape with knowledgable fans, but that ceased by like 2015. Now it's grown far too popular among the masses, the mods are horrendous, and its become the epitome of "hurrdurr Harbaw hasn't won anything" and unfunny memes.
Michigan definetely gets shit on more than your average team there but that happens to everyone that gets talked about by the media too much. I enjoy going there because its good to see what other fanbases think about things since this site is mostly homers. Visitng both sites serves its role and you recognize the bias in both.
Agreed. No online anonymous community can be expected to be perfect, but I know of no better college football board for all teams.
That's how the whole site feels now. 2009-2012, it was fun and the content was pretty good and genuine. Then it devolved into a cesspool of bots, not so sneaky advertisers, shareblue propaganda, power-hungry mods with axes to grind, and users pretending to be gatekeepers of knowledge both incorrect and misleading.
You don't need to ever go on /r/cfb to participate in this though. If that wasn't clear.
You do need to select your Michigan flair.
Yeah, only to select flair. You don't have to be an active member of the community is what I meant.
"Doesn't it bother you that you have to get up in the morning and you have to put on a bunch of pieces of flair? ... You know, the Nazis had pieces of flair that they made the Jews wear."
Or is it because I've built a stronghold around Greenland, I've driven you out of Western Europe, and I've left you teetering on the brink of complete annihilation.?
I'm not beaten yet. I still have armies in the Ukraine.
FYI, we had previously taken East Lansing. Last night OSU took East Lansing from us. By the rules of the game, as long as OSU occupies East Lansing, MSU players can join their effort. So this next turn may be tough.
When you're ready to give up middle schooler games, I suggest Diplomacy. Same thing, without the dice.
sooo... I joined. What should I defend and/or attack? Looks like I can choose to defend one and attack one each day. I chose to defend Michigan. Who are we attacking? Is there a place we discuss that? Is that Discord (which I can't access while connected to my work VPN, so maybe after hours)?
Yes we plan everything in the Discord posted in the OP. We don't want other fanbases seeing our strategies on here, so we are refraining from discussing here.
If you can join the discord when you can we will have a breakdown of what we want to attack/defend and you can select accordingly.
Also you can only attack OR defend one territory per day. Not both.
You can decide to switch what territory you are defending/attacking up till midnight, when everything is tabulated. Generally our discord works on the plan during the day and gets people organized for territories in the evening.
Of course, you don't HAVE to follow the organized chatter. We left the retaking of Ann Arbor last night to the non-discordians, assuming they would be fervent to retake. We concentrated on other territories.
The Ukraine is WEAK!!!
In case anyone is interested in the overall game, it appears Nebraska and Florida have the numbers to win. The black and green you see on the map is "Team Chaos", a hive of scum and villiany, made up of eliminated teams or just fans of chaos.
There are some rumored alliances, some of which may be really not good for us. I believe OSU's focus is to eliminate us and then work on PSU/VT.
The way it works make it almost impossible for team chaos to not win. Florida is best positioned of the not team chaos options to win. Michigan likely needs to form an alliance to survive, not enough players otherwise.
Team Chaos got nerfed a couple days ago. They attack at 0.5x strength now. They probably will still be a strong player, though.
We are losing some ground to OSU. We need to get some of those back so we can form a cluster and we won't have to defend territory in the middle.
Info and strategy here.
