Recruiting: Cole (Positive Vibes)

Submitted by Paly33 on
With recruiting being in flux this year because of Hoke's job status, it was great to see some good news from our old Brandon Brown on The Fort:

Basically he exchanged some text messages with Brian today and that he fully plans on enrolling early in January.

My feeling is that keeping Cole, Malzone, Weber, & Newsome should be top priority. I think having that happen should be looked at as a positive outcome given the state of our program this year.

...I tip my cap and give a standing O.

I'm not saying it is...but Hoke and his staff have preached "you don't commit to the staff, you commit to this great University and it's rich tradition" from Day 1.

If he reiterated that to Marshall and told him "no matter the coach, I strongly advise you to take your visit in December/early January when the dust has settled and you'll see how great this University is..."

That to me would be special.

I'm just daydreaming outloud, but that's what blogs are for. I don't think that's happening, but it wouldn't shock me for a second if that is Hoke's message to all recruits. Especially the high level recruits who have nothing to lose by waiting (whereas the 3/4 star my have to commit to another school now for fear of the scholly being pulled).

Regardless, I'm glad that some guys are taking the wait and see approach. It sucks that this won't be resolved until the dead of winter, but hell, it's not like it's warm right now. Having some snow on the ground is probably better than 20-30 degrees without snow.

Okay, now I'm overthinking everything. Good day to all.

On Scout, Auden Tate will be taking his OV to UM this weekend. FSU commit but must have genuine interest to visit under such turmoil. Also shows that Hoke and staff are still working their tails off till the end.

if we can get harbaugh and keep the current class as is, i would take it in a second.  even if we fill the rest of the class with 3 stars.  coaching is wayyyyy more important than recruits, especially at a school like UM>
