Question Regarding Michigan's 2021 Football Schedule

Submitted by MHWolverine on December 14th, 2020 at 12:46 PM

Is there a chance that next years schedule would see Michigan travel to MSU, PSU and OSU?

I'm curious because would we really get MSU to come to AA for a third consecutive year?

And since Michigan did not have to travel to Columbus, would OSU really come here two years in a row with most likely full to half full stadiums allowed next year?

Probably pointless to wonder about this now but hey, I'm bored. Go Blue on Saturday!

They said they were permanently switching the games between MSU, Indiana, and Michigan. So UM should be traveling to MSU next year and playing OSU in Ann Arbor, then the following year play MSU in Ann Arbor and travel to OSU, and so on. I don't think the programs have officially switched the schedules yet, but that's at least what they said was happening.

My guess is MSU and Indiana flip flop home and away to keep number home of games on track.  Also, this prevents Michigan going to Indiana 3 years in a row and MSU coming to Michigan 3 years in a row.

Not sure how that effects Indiana and MSU's schedules though.

Any schedules you're looking at for 2021 are undoubtedly pre-COVID. Once the 10-game, conference-only schedule came out it was announced that the B1G was "fixing" the MSU/OSU home/away same year thing for Michigan, so M will travel to East Lansing next season. They also swapped Michigan/Indiana for 2020, with Michigan going to Bloomington for the second year in a row. You may recall that Michigan hosted IU in both 2013 and 2014. With the addition of Rutgers and Maryland, that was one of several matchups played in the same location for those two years.

As for the question of games that were cancelled and any possible change of venue, I very much doubt that the conference will do that. I would bet that Michigan hosts OSU next season and travels to Maryland.

On a related note, MSU also played Indiana in the same location (E Lansing) for the second consecutive season; they will play at IU in 2021.

With new schedules required for the change in divisions in 2014, the Big Ten made sure that no team had two straight road games more than one opponent in both years--except one. Michigan had to play @MSU and @Northwestern in both 2013 and 2014. In return, we got Indiana at home both years. No one really remembers or cares that much since it was part of Brady Hoke's denouemont, but it happened. Thanks a lot, Dave Brandon.

They tried the fix the at Michigan State and at Ohio State in the same year. Well that didn't work out. Just go to Indiana for a third year in a row too. All options are probably on the table.

Suggest we take this opportunity to declare our Independence.  Seems an easier pathway to victory like ND, BYU, Army.

Could keep a loose B1G affiliation like ND does with the ACC and the B1G.

Why would an Ohio state fan complain about that? If warde really is as inept as he seems and he brings back this shit show then Ohio states laughing their asses off regardless where the game is played. I’m just gonna be waiting in the back when 2021 turns into another disaster
