Puff Piece re Jett Howard and Allen Iverson
Saw this on the feed… Short piece and video from CBS about Jett killing it at the Iverson Classic and meeting The Answer afterward.
Thanks for posting. I liked that Iverson praised Jett, his dad, and said Jett's going to be great regardless of basketball.
When Uncle Chuck speaks, people listen
Not sure if I’m getting old or what but I swear I thought the title said “Paul Pierce”
P-Double was the Question. AI was the Answer.
I understand. The Answer is easily mistaken with The Truth

And neither of the hold a candle to The Knowledge.
Yes.
your "motherfucking daddy" is a bit redundant, AI
Reminds me of two other redundancies I've been tired of hearing for a long time:
- Baby mama
- Baby daddy
I think these aren’t redundant but add context. It implies that someone is the biological mother/father of your children but that you’re not married or in a long term relationship with them.
Exactly this.
I'll take some more negs here, I guess. You wrote:
"..... someone is the biological mother/father of your children ..."
So .....
- Baby Mama = Mama
- Baby Daddy = Daddy
I think the Baby part is still redundant. It doesn't matter if the mama / daddy is engaged with the kid or other parent day-to-day. They're still the biological parent.
Saying “I’m meeting my daddy for lunch” sounds a whole lot different than “I’m meeting my baby daddy for lunch”
Kinda looks like Jordan Poole in the bottom vid. Sorta gangly and in the midst of losing his balance! I loved Jordan when he was here, but I never saw myself comparing other players to him in a real positive way, lol. Jordan, you proved me wrong! And I couldn't be happier, Go Blue! ;)
Zak Irvin has been my comp, though Jett is a better athlete. Irvin was a decent passer/creator for others but struggled in getting to the rim. I think Jett will be superior in that latter area. The streaky shooting will probably feel similar however.
Practice? Practice? We talkin' bout practice?
The funny thing about these little puritanical memes that surface, where people sitting in their armchairs get up on high horses to criticize exquisitely gifted players like AI about their 'work ethic'. . . is that you know the guy put in bazillions of hours on the court prior to reaching the league at all, and that the conversation was more about how much practice time a player needs in a context where he's already playing and practicing extensively. The notion of any of these players as lazy too readily fits some very old tropes which need to be killed with fire. But then, on any given day half of America is usually accusing the other half of being lazy even as we have the highest productivity and put in the most hours on the job of any country on earth. All of this stuff wants a little bit of examining. Sorry, speech over, but this one with AI always nagged me.
Take it up with him. He said it.
Everyone kills people, murders people, steals you, steals from me ....
Who stole him? :)
Relax.
Good points in a broader context....
AI is one of my absolute favorite players ever and Jett Howard will be a heck of a player for UM.
AI is one of my favorite players of all time and I hated the Sixers as a Detroit fan.

Can he play point guard? 🤔
Dont say that. Dug will transfer and the transfer will transfer and Twill wont like it so he will transfer. Our head coach will get fed up and he will transfer to the NBA. These things must be handled delicately.
I have zero evidence to support this but I just have a gut feeling Jett is going to be special even as a freshman. Take that to the imaginary bank of unsubstantiated takes.
Michigan is on a bit of a streak of having at least one freshman starter:
- 21-22: Moussa Diabate and Caleb Houstan
- 20-21: Hunter Dickinson
- 19-20: Franz Wagner
- 18-19: Iggy Brazdeikis
- 17-18: Isaiah Livers (massive caveats apply as he was only nominally the starter, and Duncan Robinson got more minutes and was the finisher)
"Just be a great dude like your motherf***king daddy."
Absolutely LOVE everything about this...AI was as real as they get and no one carried more street cred than that guy...the voice, the swag, the tats, the style, the raw energy and most definitely the way he played the game...little guy (naw I wouldn't say THAT to his face ;) ) with unbelievable heart and skill.
So, when he speaks about Juwan that way you know he's not BS'ing. He speaking about Juwan on a deep, honest level that goes well beyond basketball....
And having this blasted on the net has to be good for recruiting...
AI is legend period.
