I mean...nobody wants to admit they ate 9 cans of ravioli...but...I did. I'm ashamed of myself. The first can doesn't count. Then you get to the second and third. Fourth and fifth, I think I burnt with the blowtorch. And then I just kept eatin.

Let them wallow in their self pity, They're headed for the NIT, after which most of their players will likely enjoy mildly to moderately successful careers in the NBA d-league with the occasional call up from teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Los Angelos Blake Griffins.

I love how Sparty's playing babe in the woods, acting all about the victim because Darius talked a little something at the end of the game.  As if their guys, and their fans, know the first fucking thing about winning with class.  Kept their mouth shut every year except to say good game.

This is perfectly said.  Izzo was complaining about the layup when we were only up 5 and their players were trying to foul.  Someone has posted a link on another topic here of sparty getting an alley oop with 15 sec left while up 17 in the 2008 game.  I'm so sick of their players/coaches/AD/fans talking with an air of superiority.  This is the year they are put back in their place.

I'm sure there are a couple of overzealous UM fans who say dumb stuff like "the torch has been passed"  - really, UM is still something like 6-18 in the past 24 games against MSU - but for the MSU faithful to act like Morris is trash and overrated just because he woofed it up a bit after a big win is about as hypocritical as possible.  I think it is dumb for people to say that Kalin Lucas isn't a great PG, and one can only hope Morris reaches such accomplishments, but Morris is a very good PG who led this team to some big wins this season despite not having nearly as much established talent around him as Lucas had for the entire time he was at MSU.  Lucas won the BTPOY during one of the weaker stretches in recent memory, and has not really improved that much since then.  He's a good player on a consistently good team, but he isn't one of the "greatest PG in college bball history" as someone on the board posted, and he should be big enough to deal with a little trash talk after all that he has said and done the past couple of years.

Actually, there is a very good chance that the "torch" has been passed.  I won't tl;dr it here, but will cover it over on my blog this evening.  Basically, though, UM will be better next year and MSU will be worse.  Izzo's Cavalier Indulgence cost him and MSU much more than either will ever admit.  As an mgoposter noticed yesterday, the all time record of the series is still 93-71 Michigan, even with Michigan having to vacate wins from the Ed Martin era.

So, pardon me if I can't take revisionist history citing Izzo's record against Michigan while ignoring the remainder of history very seriously.
