Prediction Thread

Submitted by Swayze Howell Sheen on September 22nd, 2019 at 11:06 AM

OK, that was really the worst I've ever felt during the Harbaugh era. Even worse, I was there in person. It was brutal and the Michigan fans I saw were all shell-shocked.

Now, let's do some predictions. I will track these and come back at the end of the season so we can see who was right and who wasn't.

1 - Will there be a major shake-up on offense, starting this week?

2 - Will there be a major shake-up on defense?

3 - What will Michigan's final record be? (exclude any postseason, not that postseason is seeming likely at this point)

4 - What will the score of the OSU game be?

I'll share my predictions further down the thread, that is, if it doesn't get deleted.

Imagine being such a loser that you spend your free time creating email accounts so you can make yet another username on a message board that you've been banned from 10+ times.

(Except you don't need to imagine it because you're living it.)

Wow.  I was about to respond to this, and then I realized.... I don’t even care.  Is this being Michigan-free like Lions-free?  It might be.  It doesn’t feel all bad.

Even if they change anything, it won't matter. All of the players pretty much suck because they have astoundingly bad coaching and no one seems to care at all anymore.

Maybe 6-6. That's the high estimate

42-21. They'll show some life in the first half, but will eventually quit like they always do.

Things look very bad now.  In some regards the worse the better.  Wipe the slate clean and start over! This is clearly failing.  There are some good coaches out there like Matt Campbell and the new guy at Kansas State.

I say they finish 6-6 and play yet another uninspiring bowl game 6-7.

  1. No - but time to play those freshman slots - this offense doesn't fit our personnel
  2. No - it is what is and man did we look under-sized on DL or what ?
  3. 7-5
  4. Do I have to answer this?  42-14 ... the bad guys

Losses rest of way:

PSU

MSU

OSU

Crappy Bowl game where the entire month leading up to said bowl game speculation of early declarations of draft eligible players (see WR) not playing in bowl game abound.

So we beat ND? Ha. If you were an NFL caliber WR on this team going up for arm punts a couple of times a game or diving across the field for another shitty pass and had to decide whether to play in the Cheez It Bowl or not, it’s not going to be a difficult decision.

3) Looking at the schedule, anything between 4-8 and 6-6. People like to rip on Rutgers and Illinois, but at this point it wouldn’t surprise me if they presented a real challenge to this UM squad.

Think we beat Rutgers, Iowa, Illinois, Maryland, MSU and Indiana. Maybe whatever mediocre bowl team we play.

Losses @PSU, ND, OSU. OSU game is going to be ugly unless something drastic changes. 49-21 or something like that.

Here is how I look at the schedule:

Almost guaranteed losses: OSU, ND

Likely losses: MSU, PSU, Iowa

Toss-Ups: MD, Indiana

Likely wins: Rutger, Illinois

When you have an inept DL, you won’t win many games. This team looks like maybe 7-5 at best. If we beat Iowa I would consider revising this to 8-4.

Doubt we’ll see much change. We’ve been hoping for a new look or something different from this offense since week 1.

How are we going to do the rest of the season? Lol, if we keep it up like this....losses to Iowa, Notre Dame, Penn State, OSU are probably guaranteed. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Indiana game is really close.

I doubt we’ll see a 2016 Penn State turnaround but lord I hope we do. In the event we don’t, OSU is going to flat out destroy us worse than Wisconsin just did. 55-17.

There needs to be an attitude change. Maybe Harbaugh should take a page out of the old Huskers book and toughen this team up.

1) No

2) No

3) 7-5, after yesterday I think MSU beats us. No way in hell we win in Happy Valley, and ND will be fighting for its playoff life against us. That game probably ends 41-21.

4) 45-41. This should be a blowout but the gods never let Michigan off that easy. The offense we expected to see all year will FINALLY show up and give OSU a game. Michigan gets a big stop on defense and gets the ball back with under 2 mins to go with a chance to win the game. Shea actually plays well for most of the day, and the WR trio reel in a few TDs as well. And then before you know it, on the first snap of the series, Michigan commits it’s only turnover of the day. Chase Young comes roaring off the edge, blindsides Shea, he understandably fumbles the ball, OSU recovers, game over. The ~50,000 OSU fans in the stands all start their OH-IO chants, never a doubt in their mind that Michigan would find a way to blow it yet again, as the Michigan contingent slowly start heading for the exits, ready for basketball season.

Book it, my friends. We will expect to get run off the field, the team gives glimmers of hope that this may finally be the year it breaks through and wins, and then the game ends in an all too familiar fashion.

1. I think they will go back to running the ball much more.

2. No, Don Brown now sucks.

3. 8-4, with 2 more blow out losses to either ND, PSU, and OSU.

4. 42-17 OSU

Mutually part with JH, go do what it takes to get Venables from Clemson. Take next year as a rebuilding year (8-4, 9-3) then tune up for 2021 when we have a very favorable schedule. No more “Michigan Men”, whatever the fuck that means.

1. No. But there should be. I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised tomorrow and see that Jim Harbaugh has let Josh Gattis go.

2. No. But there should be. I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised tomorrow and see that Jim Harbaugh has let Shaun Nua go.

3.

4. Bad, Ryan Day will laugh.
