I see Weis as one of the possibilities, that would be...interesting
Adnan
Weiss could be in charge of team meals.....He does love to eat
Sizzler every day!
Harbaugh has had three coaches who are African-Americans become head coaches. That's pretty impressive and says a lot about Harbaugh's colorblindness when it comes to seeing coaching talent.
this should be negged. The logic is tenuous, but it's a cool observation.
I hate myself for getting excited about this. So I'm not gonna get excited about this...publicly. I'll refrain from public expressions of elation and will remain stoic in the face of excitement. I just won't let myself believe this until any press conference is held. So there.
DB Coach. "Come to Michigan and I will teach you"
Tom Brady in 3 years when he retires. Has the Cali recruiting connection and he's TOM BRADY.
But yeah thats just an eggnog induced pipe dream down the road.
Brady's plan is to play until he is 45 "or maybe even 50." I know, I know, but that's what he says.
Brady and Woodson have better things to do than coach.
He loves the game way to much to get out. Its in his blood and it's what he does. He is coaching some day.
I highly doubt it
Agreed.
Brady definately has things to do
and the glory he's attained, Brady would wither living in Ann Arbor. And Gisele would probably equate it with living in Fargo.
Keep Funk.
Sarcasm or not. Die.
Skip Bayless is an appropriate name for that comment.
Is it wrong that I'm checking MGoBlog sitting at the table eating dinner with the family?
My gf says it is but only because I do the same thing!!
My family said it's ok. There's a lot of Michigan grads in this house though
Hey I'm constantly checking and have the @mgofeed notifications on phone driving family nuts. Think I care??
I was checking it during church...
So was I, so don't trip.
As long as they don't disrupt your reading, I see no problem with it. Just don't let them pull any bullshit moves like talking to you or something.
Hire Greg Robinson
The simple answer to this is, "NO, JUST NO" unless we're talking about how one side of the bench suffers from uneven legs and we need something that is otherwise completely useless to prop it up. If that is the case, I totally support the hiring of Greg Robinson, but he needs to be aware that the terms will allow us to grind him down until the bench is in fact even.
I thought Michigan fans wanted a coach who showed emotion?
That hair is magnificent
I think he need to work on his lower body and core strength. He looks a bit wobbly for this aggressive of a celebration. He totally pulls up on the R cross too. Just Sayin'....
The cut doesn't make the hair.
Come on people this one is actually funny.
Perfect suggestion for your user name
Toby got a raw deal, much like RichRod.
Oh yeah, I remember. That guy who coached 37 games and couldn't even win half. Raw deal.
He can rub wolverine magic all over Ann Arbor.
Skip, you're gonna catch a righteous asswhippin' with talk like that around here.
Has a good head start to Bolivia.
Interesting list. Lots of possibilities.
One correction though: Eric Campbell didn't coach in the CFL - or anywhere - this past season. I, for one, hope he gets picked up as part of the staff.
Soup was fired midseason by Montreal
"Charlie Weis: Michigan fans may cringe a bit at this suggestion..."
Uh, if by "cringe" he means "spontaneously projectile vomit." This suggestion threatens to undermine the credibility of the whole article.
Isn't Charlie Tuna still on ND's payroll. I think they owe him for the lifetime contract they gave him.
This is correct. Between payouts from ND and Kansas Weis will make 4.6 million dollars to do nothing. As Don King would say, "Only in America."
Oh. He'll be eatin'........
I have feelings too
Why do we need s token fat guy coach at UM all the sudden????
Fire Borges!
Jim, I'm at your service
I think Jim already has plenty of michigan arrogance
Mike Barwis!
Woodsmen db coach , Wheatley rb coach , Desmond wr coach , Sam sword dl
Coach , john Runyan ol coach
Woodsen
Try again.
Then there's that other guy.... Woodson.
Woods, man.
Wood man
MegaMan 2?
MAVERICK BOTS!!!!!!
Seriously though the leafs were stupid.
Woods man?
Stop giving Owosso folk a bad name
Woody's son
Seriously Owosso?!
From Woodsmen to Woodsen?
Just... Wow!
You jelly? You're just pissed you can't cruise the pits of Owosso.
John Wooden
Charles is Swedish?
Woodson
Then you're probably already familiar with Michigan Great Trishmagma Bjorkabucktootha
I am happy to see Jim Leavitt in the photo at the top of the piece. Leavitt is as intense as Harbaugh. He did a great job of building the USF program from scratch. The fanbase and president decided that USF should be more like Miami and that Leavitt wasn't the guy to get them there. Ergo the firing, even though a Florida State Trooper directly contradicted the account of the alleged "assault" that supposedly got Leavitt fired.
I would be very happy to see Leavitt as a DC. If it doesn't happen, I'm sure Harbaugh can find a place for him on the staff.
I thought the incident off the field caused the firing of Leavitt, not the dissatisfaction of the USF performance
As a USF alumni who was on campus at the time I can tell you that the incident was an excuse not a cause. It was blown way out of proportion and it was more because of people higher up having a personal dislike for Jim Leavitt and eyeing Skip Holtz. That single decision has destroyed the program and hopefully Taggart can bring some credibility back.
With that said, I would be beyond thrilled with Jim Leavitt being on Michigan's staff. He is a fantastic coach who has produced results everywhere he has been.
I'm sad about Mark Smith not making the list. Thought he did a great job with the linebackers and d-line working with really young groups of players.
I agree. Our linebackers have been the strength the last few years. Ryan and Morgan really developed over their time here
Uh...
about being serious about football.
I like
unemployed and he is a hell of a defensive coordinator and recruiter.
I know Morton through USC, he is a great guy, would be great get.
I'm not sure any of our players speak Orgeronese though.
Nothing wrong with a little bayou accent...
Great list. When (if, so not to jinx anything) Harbaugh comes I'm very confident in his ability to put together an all star cast. He is the type of guy that will not allow free loading of any kind. Which, to me, is one area that our staffs have had serious issues the past 7 years.
Please for the love of God let the RB coach be somebody besides Fred Jackson. Mike Hart, Tyrone Wheatley, Dave Brandon, Charles Manson -- anybody.
Charles Manson would be killer.
I see what you did there
Manson would totally slash defenses
intensity.
One thing about Manson is that he would command respect. Manson is a serial person and his players would take him serially.
Ya...too far.
Well he is a master at motivating others do to the dirty work for him.
Agreed. Freddy J has made our running back slower for far too many years.
Nussmeier looks to be moving on. Is there anyone on the outgoing staff you all would like to see return? (Other than Mattison, who is already rumored as a candidate to stay?
I'd like to see Manning stay out of all the current staff. Seems like a great recruiter, and while I know he has bounced around as a position coach, I'd like to see him stay on the staff in some way.
I thought he was being fast-tracked and that the whole point of exposing him to various positions was to enhance the experience and skillset of a future coordinator/HC.
I like Hecklinski - recruiting stayed strong until total Implosion Time, the WRs over-acheived until well, I guess until Implosion Time.
Does he keep the cloaking device if he leaves?
You're not alone. Coach Heck until this year was a safe pick for the strongest of all the position group coaches. He's a keeper imo.
With the alleged video equipment in San Francisco and in Schembechler hall that rivals reported. Could that be being used for asst coach interviews by Harbaugh. Just a guess under the assumption he's taken the job.
Rumor has it, Greg Schiano is still looking for a job.
Al Borges
Bring back Gorgeous Al!
Brady Hoke d-line coach where he belongs.
Unfortunately there is a big difference between 1997 Brady Hoke and 2014 Brady Hoke. The current version has low-testosterone.
Rumor has it Jim is thinking about bringing in Uncle Rico as a QB Coach. I'm all for it. Guy just needs a chance.
If only they put him in at qb back in '82. He could throw a football a quarter mile back in those days.
are you serious?
Are you?
Pretty soon our QB's will be throwing over mountains!!
He might just find his soul mate in A^2.
If only he had a time machine.
Good thing I scanned the comments because I was going to say just that
Shannon Turley (Stanford S&C coach) is the name that really jumped out at me from the list, after he received national attention for how he revolutionized Stanford's S&C program and cut ting the frequency of injuries by 85% (including the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/31/sports/ncaafootball/stanfords-distinct...).
Since we seem to lose two or three guys per year to ACL tears alone, it would be interesting to see what effect he might have here.

I very much want Wellman to be gone. I have no idea what he's doing with the players, but it's not good. I
Yes. Michigans players seem slow and weak. It pains me to say it, compare them to MSU. There is a vast difference.
Defensive Coordinator/Special Teams - D.J. Durkin
Defensive Line - Greg Mattison
Linebackers - Roy Manning
Defensive Backs - Marcus Robertson
Offensive Coordinator - Andy Moeller or Jimmie Dougherty (Depending on Mo's Philosophy)
Running Backs - Tyronne Wheatley
Wide Receivers - Herman Moore
Offensive Line/Tight Ends - Tim Drevno
Strength/Conditioning - Kevin Tolbert
That makes absolutely no sense. The man is a line coach. No way in hell would I want him as OC.
This x 1000000. Baffling.
I am thinking that he would run an offense similar to what his dad, Gary Moeller, ran as Head Coach, and Gary, at one time or another, coached all over the field.
Bo in his later years, did open the offense a little bit, with Mo as the O.C. but it wasn't until Mo took over as the H.C., that it really flourished, for he ran a diverse, unpredictable offense that could both run and pass, and he also mixed in a few flea flickers from time to time, and I.M.H.O. that is what we need now.
I'd want Koger for TEs
But I'm young so...
You left out coach hoke
He's Under Contract, so how about cheerleader/ hand clapper ?
I've heard we've also upped the ante for assistant pay. Anybody know any details? Can we pay the assistants that we want what we need to get them?
Webb said around $5 million for the assistants, which would be close to what LSU pays their assistants.
I'm at family Christmas with a Buckeye! He is an insufferable human being! Please help!
Just tell him we ain't come to play school and he needs to worry about getting rolled by the tide.
Nope. He's insistent that he is going to purchase national championship tickets because the buckeyes are guaranteed to beat Bama
Sorry but...
mouth-breather
and am sticking to it.
Harbaugh will bring DJ Durkin as DC, make Andy Moeller & Ty Wheatly as Co-OC.
Could come in as lb coach. That's a rumor out of Dearborn.
I want Wheatey at OC, Durkin at DC (Or if he stays Durkin/Mattison can be co-DCs), I want Manning kept on, Hecklinski kept on, Mike Hart brought in to be the RB coach and aside from that I don't care.
Unless Hart makes some serious amends with Harbaugh, I doubt Hart would ever even sniff being on Harbaugh's staff.
I think after Harbaugh's academic comments in 2007, Hart said something to the effect of wishing he'd never played for Michigan, and that Harbaugh was never a "true Michigan Man."
No way!
Why would he hire Wheatley as OC when he's never been anything more than a RB coach? Just because he once played for Michigan does not make him qualified.
everywhere he has coached. If he comes back to college it will be as OC otherwise he waits a year or two and will be one in the NFL.
Your thoughts on this matter are a big fail.
whaaaa?
I think the realistic scenario is "run game coordinator," non-play calling co-OC (a la Bollman at MSU) or associate HC. He's not coming back to just be the RBs coach.
I doubt harbaugh hires mike hart, lol
He doesn't have enough experience yet. And he needs to learn how to say things without pissing everybody off.
Are people serious about wanting to bring back Andy Moeller? I'm frightened at the thought.
Weird not to see some of the more obvious candidates names...
Saban or Harbaugh (John) for DC...
Belichick or RichRod for OC...
Dantonio for assistant special teams coach
Vill Bellichek cannot be OC because his NFL strategy has always been: "Snap it to Tom Terrific and then whatever else." Unfortunately Tom used up his eligibility at UM.
Calvin McGee OC because obviously.
We want the best qualified coordinators and assistants we can get. If they happen to be Michigan grads that's fine, but that shouldn't be one of the requirements.
Special teams is pretty obvious - Brian Cook. Seem to recall he has some thoughts on punt formations.
Glad we are trying to get away from the Michigan Man theme. Wouldn't mind the only one with Michigan connections be Harbaugh. Maybe keep Manning around for recruiting and move him to LB coach. Need to bring in the best coaches for the jobs - not just a 90's Michigan dream team.
Those are special.
Good read thanks man
Although she may struggle to decide what the other team is doing
