Positive Crystal Balls (defense)

Submitted by WolverineinDallas on May 15th, 2020 at 8:28 PM

Some positive news, though I don’t know how credible the source is. Three new crystal balls came in for UM today. All three are four stars, and they are each on defense: 2 LBs, 1 DT. We already knew that Hood and Colson were UM leans, but Rooks is a newer name.

OSU Side Note: Jack Sawyer is an animal.  We need some great tackles to stop that guy.  He plays wildcat at DE.  F**K

And they're in on even higher ranked DE this year too.

I hate them and everything but it's not hard to see why they're so tough to beat, if you look at it objectively.

I hear Rooks is great at moving forwards, backwards, or sideways for as far as you want him too.  But that he has no ability to move diagonally.  Don't get me wrong, I would still rather have him over some pawn, especially as he can castle with the King.

Interesting to see how the services are split on these guys. Colson is the only one universally regarded as a 4 star. Hood and Rooks are 3 stars on 247. In fact Michigan's last 11 commitments are all 3 stars on 247's internal rankings. They are really down on UM's class.

u·ni·ver·sal

/ˌyo͞onəˈvərsəl/

adjective

  1. of, affecting, or done by all people or things in the world or in a particular group; applicable to all cases.

So given that Rivals and ESPN and 247 all have different rating for these guys you are indeed wrong. The composite is an average of the services. Stop being dumb please.

I don’t know these particular players well, but in general guys who are not 4 stars on every site are not the best gets. Rather a consensus 4 star. I want a typical Michigan class to look like 2 five stars 15 four stars and 10 three stars. I don’t think that’s too crazy. And most of those three stars should be top 500.

yeesh, no one here doesnt want to beat OSU, and no one needs to have "they're" fandom checked.

What a tired comment that users on mgoblog "dont want to beat OSU" because they say something realistic or the opposite of someone else's thoughts. Get real.

That comment got downvoted bc its an unnecessary comment that doesnt have anything to do with the thread and is just posturing to make it sound like they care more and are super cool because of it.

Not only that, but it really doesn't make sense. This like a dad telling his son "I don't care if you study, I just want you to get all A's."

Sure, that's possible without studying but extremely unlikely and if the dad truly cares about his son getting good grades then he should care if he's doing the things necessary to do so.

Yeah, unfortunately, we're not going to beat OSU with a roster loaded with  3 star recruits especially after just looking at their 2021 class on the 247 Composite which - if they get the players they're expected to get - could go down as the highest rated class in CFB history.  That just flat out sucks - bigtime

I've only watched Hoods film but I was impressed.  A poor man's Bush.  He doesn't have the same speed but has that heat seeking missle ability.  Would probably be my favorite LB recruit since Mcgrone.
