A win last night was a good way to start off today!  Short day at work, then home for the weekend.  The mud pit, ahem, my backyard will be a little wet after three days of off&on rain/ice/snow - so yay!

This is probably a better question for RCMB, but aren't those things not the "real" ladybugs but instead those disgusting things that came as an invasive species in the 1980's? I was raised on a farm and had to deal with those things. They smelled like rancid peanut butter when crushed.

True ladybugs. on the other hand, were a pleasant addition to any garden.  I went to M, so I never took a post-graduate class in identifying garden pests.

I know people got mad but what’s he supposed to do?  Legislate the snow and cold away? Yell at the electric company to make them work faster?  There’s literally nothing he could have done to make the electricity come back on.

Also, he was back in Texas the next day ... it’s not like he went on vacation.

Clearly a bad look.  Leaders eat last type stuff.  I don't think anybody expects him to turn the lights back on, but hard to feel bad for a guy that is all about political optics.  Politics has turned into political theater and this is a short act in the production.  

Ted has a flair for the dramatic every chance he gets, he knows how the game is played. People can have fun with this self inflicted slip up.  Either way it will blow over quickly. 

Seriously do hope they get up and running in Texas soon.  Scary stuff for a lot of people down there.

Doc, he could've tried to help his fellow Texans. Even if he didn't bring to bear the powers of his office, he could've at least done welfare checks on his constituents. But that would require compassion.

And btw, it was totally a vacation. He moved up his return flight only after he got caught.

I mean, sure.  He could have.  But no one else really has. Like, name another politician, regardless of party, that did door to door welfare checks in the middle of a pandemic as well as in the middle of a once in a 100 year storm.

I mean, ignoring the pandemic, of all the natural disasters to hit the US in the last 100 years, and all the thousands of senators over that time .... how many did door to door welfare checks?  You’re asking him to do what basically no one in his position has done.  You could probably count them on one hand, and therefore holding him to an insanely high standard that no one else is held to.

And please don’t mention AOC or Beto or whoever.  They didn’t actually lift a finger until they saw the massive amount of shit Cruz was getting only then made a mild effort, neither of whom did welfare checks ...
