Porter Moser whispers "getting louder"
This would be a nightmare. If this happens Warde Manuel should be forced to resign immediately.
Heard whispers all day Porter Moser is the leader at Michigan and those whispers keep getting louder

As good of a guy as he is, I just don’t get how 1 NCAA tournament in 15 years qualifies you to be Michigan head coach
Granted it was a really fucking great 1 year, but still pic.twitter.com/GS0sBY2Z1a
Who is Porter Moser?
Loyola Chicago’s coach. Sister Jean is not part of the package
Thank you
Yes. My exact question. Sounds like someone from the Beverly Hiilbillies or Mayberry RFD. Don't want.
What's wrong with that? I could imagine a totally inspiring locker room speech along the lines of "now men, let's get out there and give it to Sparty like Old Man Johnson giving his wife what for."
it was the dinosaur that ate the indominus rex at the end of jurassic world
it was Mel Gibson's character in the movie Payback
we're in the fog of war stage of this, let's try to not give ourselves an ulcer over every little twitter post
Agree but he was also one of four on Sam Webb's coaching hot board with commentary that Michigan thinks highly of him, which boggles my mind when you look at his resume.
Cool. I ALSO think we should start a thread for every single tweet from a random account making any sort of speculation about Michigan's coaching search. Well done.
I've done that before for premier league transfer rumors and it was more depressing than imaginable and a complete waste of time
Age of Empires, or Command and Conquer?
Porter Moser has had one meaningful season in 19 years as a head coach. In that one season he won his first three tournament games by 4 points combined. It was a great story but it was also sheer luck boosting an utterly unremarkable career.
Michigan hiring Porter Moser would be a colossal, Hoke-esque disaster.
A Hoke-esque disaster is exactly what will happen.
Programs usually don't get two good coaches in a row, much less two great coaches.
........aaaaaaannnnnnnnd the lucky winner would be Ohio State (football).
I hate everything right now.
And Oklahoma
Yeah he would probably be a step toward mediocrity. But when I think disaster or nightmare hire, I think something like Ellerbe.
I think the 1 tourney appearance in 15 years is misleading. He's only coached in 1-bid conferences. And Loyola was a rebuild. The Illinois St tenure is most concerning.
You get that 1 bid by winning championships, which he did not do.
Fair enough, but by that metric Beilein was only 2/15 before he came to Michigan. In those small conferences you can be a decent coach and not make the tournament very often.
Can't believe I'm defending this guy since I don't want him either, but if this is a nightmare then your nightmares aren't that bad. Brian effing Ellerbe was the coach during my time at U-M. I watched Duke take a 34-2 lead at Cameron. *That* was a nightmare.
And yet Hoke happened...
I love a good Porter... can only drink a few at a time though, those fuckers will get ya!
he'd be a solid C- hire!
Yeah, and Jim Harbaugh was never going to leave the NFL and go back to college.
Maybe I'm just in the denial stage because this would, indeed, be an awful hire, but who is @coachingchanges and why am I expected to credit anything he says?
They're a group of insiders who are really outsiders.
Don't know much about him other than his uninspiring career record and his reputation as a decent guy.
Sounds like Amaker Part 2
Seriously? You guys do remember that Dave Brandon isn't here anymore, right?
Jim Hackett is not here either, that’s what scares me.
Hackett>Brandon+Manuel
I think given the giant fuck ups that were the RichRod and Hoke years, Manuel (while not a part of them) fully understands the situation he's in and that hiring some feel good story like Porter Moser, or similar, isn't gonna cut it at Michigan. No, he didn't land us Harbaugh but he played here for Bo and he understands Michigan and what Beilein built. I seriously doubt he's just gonna throw shit at the wall and see what sticks and hire the basketball version of Brady Hoke.
There are slim pickins out there but I have a little more faith than you do that Manuel will do his due diligence and turn over all the stones to get a good hire here.
I find it hard to believe Ward does this hire. UofM basketball can do better.
Well you can be 100% sure Ward doesn’t make that mistake. Whew!
Why is everyone freaking out what these guys tweeted? Whispers... from who? If they're such insiders, where are their tweets about Beilein moving on? Not a whisper about it, not a fucking peep.
Everyone, please calm down.
Porter Moser is the smoke screen.
Before too long Warde is going to tag in Rampaging Rick Pitino who will come flying in over the top rope.
When you think about it, it is a great move.
Who doesn't love strippers and blow?
Patio would be a home run but I’m holding out for the biggest free agent coach in the NBA: Luke Walton.
Patio is a hilarious autocorrect. There’s a fantastic joke somewhere in there but I’m too high to think of it
There really isn’t.......... really
Warde Manuel was Dollar Bill Martin’s right hand man
Warde will hire one of the winningest NCAA coaches in history............his old pal from UCONN:
GENO AURIEMMA!!!!!!!
Who has won more NC's??????????????????????????????????????
This feels a bit like the David Cutcliffe whispers when we were looking for Harbaugh. I think everyone knows who the obvious candidates are, and while I don't have the highest opinion of Warde, I have faith he won't pull a Hoke
I don't want this coaching search to be a disaster like the one at UCLA. But Beilein didn't build this program up so that we can get coaches like Porter Moser. He's a career .500 coach and Michigan is simply a better program than that. If it's too late to get someone better, then don't rush things and promote from within. Our baseline should be Yaklich or Washington.
1201 is 1201 miles from being an insider. PLEASE DISREGARD he is forever a mole. Goodness. Can he just be banned again, please?
He's the perfect hire if you consider what coach requires all the oxygen on campus.
You can’t be serious with this take.
You know it's true.
He's a Sparty troll so everything he says should be immediately ignored. Poor guy is probably still upset about 94 yards of offense. Though if you to listen to RCMB, MSU is going to turn into a offensive juggernaut this fall and crush Michigan at the Big House.
Is 94 a larger number then -46?
Ooooooo a game that happened under a coach who is long gone and featured players that are also long gone.
Just keep reaching back into the past, redbox boy.
Well, if there's ever been a fan base that's self aware of their own ancient history....:)
