Pop Evil's New Hype Video (dedicated to Mike Martin)
Martin posted this on his twitter, though I know quite a few don't like the song, I thought the video was worth posting.

Man they look silly. I'm not looking forward to this song being blasted over the PA at every opportunity.
August 29th, 2011 at 11:22 AM ^
As much as I like Mike Martin, I don't think this improved my opinion of the song... I still haven't been able to bring myself to listen to more than about 40 seconds of it

The hook may not be the best but I refuse to dislike any song that has to do with Michigan and/or Mike Martin
August 29th, 2011 at 11:45 AM ^
I will almost unconditionally support any student, athlete or coach at Michigan, but I don't think it's wrong to have reservations about propoganda and advertising.
August 29th, 2011 at 12:14 PM ^
GTFO! Flamebait is ripping the University of Michigan, which he is clearly not doing.
August 29th, 2011 at 11:30 AM ^
Wow, that song is turrible. I must be gettting old because here is this guy(dressed like an 80's rocker, is that still the style??) praising Michigan and all I can think is, "Uh...Yeah. Thanks, but no thanks." Not to mention the guy with half his head shaved and black finger nail polish making what a I guess is a "M" with his fingers. We aren't this hard up are we?
Now get those kids off my lawn!!
August 29th, 2011 at 12:38 PM ^
I think the dislike of this song spans across decades and generations... So no, it isn't because you are getting old.
August 29th, 2011 at 11:33 AM ^
When they say "HAIL TO THE WOLVERINES!" I want to kick a puppy.
August 29th, 2011 at 11:38 AM ^
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
August 29th, 2011 at 11:40 AM ^
I know I'm not the only one rolling their eyes when they see another hype video post. These things are cool if you're 12, but after that....
August 29th, 2011 at 11:49 AM ^
That's the age level the lyrics were aimed at.
August 29th, 2011 at 11:42 AM ^
Honestly it's not as bad with candid shots.
August 29th, 2011 at 12:03 PM ^
And the candid shots are even better when the video is muted.
August 29th, 2011 at 11:45 AM ^
It could have been much worse. It could have been done by brittany spears or someone similar to that
August 29th, 2011 at 12:40 PM ^
I am not 100% certain that would be worse... Maybe as bad, but I don't know about worse.

I doubt if these guys know the difference between a spread offense and a buffet spread. If DB allows one second of this to played on the Hokatron, it will make me glad I didn't get tickets this year.
August 29th, 2011 at 11:48 AM ^
The echo at the end....did not know the big house had that effect.....the remodel has to of help the noise level alot more than I thought
August 29th, 2011 at 12:11 PM ^
There were a TON of clips I'd never seen before. The song may not top the charts, but it has great energy, and I can't shit on another UM fan for getting excited about the team.
Tributes to my beloved Wolverines? Moar please.

Better than Journey's south Detroit

I went to high school with one of the members of this band. He drove a hearse to school. The fact he's involved in this song is hilarious to me as he was pretty anti-jock or anything sports-related.
August 29th, 2011 at 12:52 PM ^
This is at least supported by Mike Martin. Just checkout Mike Martin's YouTube site and it's the latest posted video. I guess Mike is getting started early on becoming a Renaissance Man in the mold of Dhani Jones.
I think of my self as a Michigan traditionalist (I do NOT want a foam mascot clown) but I really don't understand the angst this song is driving on this blog. Even if this does get shown on the big screen's in the stadium, I think it could be a cool thing. Should it replace what the band does? no. Should it be played after every successful play instead of the band playing The Victors? Hell no!
But do I like playing this video on my computer and seeing the highlights of the players , you bet!
apparently the players like it too. Kind of like those crazy one off uniforms.
August 29th, 2011 at 1:20 PM ^
The song is bad. "We are ND" level bad. Just because a Michigan player has bad taste in music it doesn't mean that we all have to love this song.
August 29th, 2011 at 1:30 PM ^
Not sure why we have to complain about this. Especially after last night when the vmas were on. No, I did not watch one second of it. I think "get off my lawn" is being over played on this site. Its too bad that everyone who likes it is getting negged.
August 29th, 2011 at 1:43 PM ^
Did I miss something? Judging from some people's comments, it sounds like this was made as an "official" pump up video. I haven't seen anything to that effect, so I ask again; did I miss something?
August 29th, 2011 at 1:56 PM ^
I don't love the lyrics, but Mike Martin is one bad mother.

I love Chapelle's Show.
August 29th, 2011 at 3:09 PM ^
I'm glad I live within walking distance of the stadium because if this plays over the PA, I'm walking home and watching on TV. That's terrible.
August 29th, 2011 at 3:01 PM ^
Double post
August 29th, 2011 at 3:27 PM ^
It is a song after all, so I just want to know how your terrible curve on this sits-is it Katriana terrible or messed up your pizza order terrible?
August 29th, 2011 at 3:32 PM ^
Katrina + BP if it's allowed to be played over the speakers at the stadium.
August 29th, 2011 at 3:43 PM ^
That's pretty f'n bad! So how does the war fit into that equation? ONLY KIDDING BOARD, don't get your blood pressure going like Beantown's will be when this song plays this saturday.

You may wanna check out some nickelback.
August 29th, 2011 at 4:56 PM ^
These guys should team up with freakbass and make a supergroup. Every ear with explode in the greater midwest area.
August 29th, 2011 at 9:09 PM ^
Much better than "Hang On Sloopy", or that Emo Indie crap "Sometimes when you're on, you really sound like a Cranberries cover band." This is a hype song. It's the typical stadium style rock music heard in most stadiums and arenas throughout the country. I really don't have a problem with it. Nobody is trying to make it the new Michigan fight song. It's just a nice gesture by a band who are clearly fans of the team.

and holding hands, right?
