Poll: Which Michigan Road/Neutral Games Have You Attended?

Submitted by UNCWolverine on

Tomorrow night will be my 19th road/neutral Michigan game, including 4th straight road opener. I'm 8-10. Here's my list:

2015 Utah
2014 ND
2013 Northwestern
2012 Alabama
2012 ND
2012 Purdue
2012 Virginia Tech
2009 Iowa
2007 USC
2004 ND
2004 Purdue
2001 Washington
2000 UCLA
2000 Purdue
2000 Northwestern
1999 Wisconsin
1998 Northwestern
1998 Washington State
1997 Indiana

I should add we only lost those three games in 2000, and by a combined 7 points. Saw three goal posts come down that fall. Had I not gone we might have won another national championship.

So what's your list?

1994 - Notre Dame, Ohio State

1995 - Indiana, MSU, Penn State

1996 - Northwestern, Ohio State, Alabama (Outback Bowl)

1997 - Indiana, MSU, Penn State

1998 - Northwestern

1999 - Indiana

2000 - Illinois

2001 - Penn State, Iowa

2002 - Illinois

2003 - Oregon, Iowa, Northwestern

2004 - Indiana

2005 - Northwestern

2006 - Indiana

2007 - Northwestern, Illinois, MSU, Wisconsin

2008 - Notre Dame, Penn State, Purdue

2009 - Michigan State, Iowa

2010 - Notre Dame, Indiana

2011 - Northwestern, MSU, Iowa, Illinois

2012 - Notre Dame, Purdue

2013 - Penn State, MSU, Northwestern, Iowa

2014 - Notre Dame, Northwestern

2015 - Minnesota, Indiana, Penn State (planned)

I've seen at least one road win in person every season since 1994, except 2008 & 2009 (the teams only won one game total away from Ann Arbor anyway!) and Bloomington & Evanston have been the best places for me to catch a Michigan win (even the ugly ones!), where their record is 13-1.  I will also note that 12 of the 19 times that I have been to a road a game that Michigan has lost have all come since 2008.  I've been to every Big Ten school at least twice for a road game except Minnesota and the three newbies, which will change after October when I attend my first Little Brown Jug game outside of Michigan Stadium.

1998 OSU

2001 Citrus Bowl

2002 Purdue

2003 Minnesota
         Iowa

2004 Rose Bowl

2004 Indiana
         Illinois

2005 Wisconsin

Then I got married in 2006, so, like, Big Ten/Bowl tour is currently on hold.

2005 Wisconsin (night game) was the worst experience we ever had.  It was the last season for Alvarez.  We almost had to fight our way out of 2 different encounters with many Badger fans and we totally weren't being dicks.  Just wearing Michigan shirts.

I've tried to attend most road games in Iowa City or Champagne:

1998: at IA W 12-9 2000: at IL W 35-31 2001: at IA W 32-26 2002; at IL W 45-28 2003: at IA L 27-30 2004: at IL W 30-19 2005: at IA W 23-20 ot 2007: at IL W 27-17 2009: at IA L 28-30 2011: at IL L 31-14 Since the new conference alignment I have driven up to see one home game since 2012. Though I did drive up in RR first season to see him lose at home to Toledo. This season I will be going to my first road game since 2011 at Indiana!

I am yet to meet fans as friendly as Nebraska fans. I suppose I am a bit biased living in Lincoln now. I still only make it to one game a year here, I'd rather stay home and watch Michigan over tailgating or attending a game. Fantastic atmosphere on Saturdays though. Edit: was supposed to be a reply. I suck
