You mean Tugger's mentor.

I think they have it backwards. He is a masturbator first and foremost.

In pursuing this goal, Petitti, 62, has leaned heavily on the 75-year-old Delany, who since retiring at the start of 2020 has remained on contract as a Big Ten advisor, earning around $400,000 per year, according to the league’s tax returns. In the last fiscal year, Delany’s payment alone exceeded the compensation of any other Big Ten employee, aside from Warren.
$400,000/year for being a comedian/masturbator? Nice work.

I should be a billionaire by now.

Not everybody is a perfect person in the world. Everyone does -- masturbates people, masturbates themselves, steals from you, steals from me, whatever. I mean, I just feel that people need to give him a chance.

The approach to being subservient to the membership has put the fans (subscribers and consumers) in a position lacking influence and power. The pathetic excuse for a non-revenue sports platform (B1G+) is a perfect example of a priority for fans that membership would consider secondary.
Modern media platform opportunities are not the wheelhouse of 20+ year PR staff and executives more attuned to boardroom politics. I would like to see the B1G find an external visionary (is that redundant?) to build the premier social and multi-media presence and platform that the athletes and fans deserve. This would be an acknowledgement of who actually earns the eyeballs and pays the salaries of the B1G staff.

Football is on TV. Football earns all the money. We can all watch it. What kind of social media do you need on top of that? 7 people care about non-revenue sports, they should be happy football funds as much as they get now.
The only thing I'd like is a Michigan Channel or Big 10 channel, so I could pay them directly rather than funneling a fraction of my cash via YTTV.

Had developed a dim view of Warren, but if I am reading correctly here, the conference has reverted to being a cash cow for none other than. . . Jim Delaney. WTF. Not encouraging.

I've never been a Delaney fan and I don't like hearing he's on the B1G payroll still. I still think he should be catapulted to the sun for bringing Rutgers and Maryland into the conference.

“In any bureaucracy, the people devoted to the benefit of the bureaucracy itself always assume control, and those dedicated to the bureaucracy’s supposed goals have less and less influence, and eventually are eliminated entirely.”

+1,000,000.
I've never heard that before, but wow does that nail it.

Most important part of the article:
The Big Ten basketball tournament logo, which Warren had changed last year to a globe-like image, is reverting to the colorful pinwheel icon Pentagram designed for the conference in 2014, under Dietz.
Whew.

This was a nothingburger of a story - not even worth a three game suspension. A waste of time is another way to put it. I mean, it promises a 'behind the scenes' look at how the Conference runs and where it's going, but it doesn't deliver on any of that. Instead, we get a review of publicly acknowledged hires, some promise of closed door intrigue that nobody will talk about, and some questions about how senior staff park their cars at the office.
JFC.
Not one word about the sorry state of the B1G TV, B1G+, or anything else...
