Those are not the only two choices, but I get that your side needs to frame the argument that way. Funny that the people screaming the loudest about opening things back up are the ones not wearing masks or practicing social distancing.

And honestly I'm done caring about what happens. People are obviously willing to die for a haircut and a draft beer, so have at it.

Youre more than welcome to offer a more subtle solution.  But yeah, you dont have one. Because there isnt one.

Funny how youve flaunted your trash lifestyle for years, and then suddenly became an expert on public health.  Also, get a new fucking job if you want to work from home. It's 2020.

I loved my life before this lockdown.   Excited for the gyms to open up next.  Got to go to an outdoor restaurant last week. If you want to be miserable, you stay at home

My trash lifestyle?  Are you confusing me with someone else?

I've been married to the same women for my entire adult life. We have two great kids, one of whom just finished her junior year in Ann Arbor.

Because I don't remember ever seeing you on this board before you started posting nonsense during the pandemic.

So go fuck yourself.

"Virtue signaling" is a meme new to me -- is it now a thing among uneducated Generation Z'ers like you?

It appears you're intent on using it as a pejorative but my take is you're employing it as a sophomoric tool to insult people who are far smarter than yourself.

Am I missing anything?

I've never seen anyone argue a point by calling themself smart.  And yes, Im an alum.  STEM degree,  too, which I'm sure you don't have.

"It appears you're intent", huh?

Grand Valley State alum?

An alumn who is unable to use proper punctuation or literate sentence structure?

Sorry, not buying it.

And, oh, I've only seen you use that term in "debate" with others so, no, I didn't make any assumptions about our relative intelligence levels. I'd suggest, though, that you take a good hard look in the mirror before accusing others of using straw men.

nice irony there.

"It appears you're intent", huh?

always nice when someone talks up how smart they are, then incorrectly criticizes someone’s correct grammar.  Dude, I feel like I’ve never seen you on this board before, and I’d like to go back to never seeing you again.

Yes, "you're intent on" is a phrase I probably learned in the fourth grade -- using a personal pronoun along with a contracted form of the verb "to be" is spot on.

Consider this to be a tuition-free lesson in elementary school level English.

Way to out yourself as being a moron. Frankly, I've never met a UM alumnus who would not be familiar with that phrase.

Perhaps I gave you far too much credit is saying you have a community college degree.

You sure your degree is not in STEMs and seeds?

Yeah, wanting to open up isn't a shtick.   It's literally what's happening because people are demanding it.  Im recognizing it's the only practical option available and choosing it.  No doom and gloom or anxiety from me.

Get well soon coach. I heard during the NFL draft that after Sean Payton recovered he started donating plasma every month to help produce antibody treatments. If I recovered from this, I'd be doing the same thing.

Convalescent plasma is likely to be our first swing at a treatment. I'd be curious if any of the doctors on the board have a feel for when we'll know if it's effective or not. It would seem Regeneron's antibodies are next in queue. They are confident enough to be already be building manufacturing capacity. I was fortunate enough to have purchased some of their stock in February by chance.

I thought it was currently be trialed?

Just curious, how many times does a patient have to be infused with the plasma? I understand the scalability issues but I'd be willing to pay for it as a prophylactic treatment if it was to be effective. Can't we treat survivors as antigen producing machines and pay them well for it -- $5,000 a pint? In the big scheme of things that would be very cheap.

The wording here is odd, was he hospitalized bc his symptoms are so bad or due to the positive test to get some early treatment that might improve his outcome?  Maybe I’m reading too much into the statement. Either way, hope he has a quick and full recovery.

he is also a very large man and older age...two major risk factors. i dont know about his area, but hospitals here are running 70% capacity....i dont think it would be unreasonable to admit a symptomatic large man of his age, and he may have other comorbidities that make his situation even more dangerous

No no no, he was hospitalized and just so happens to have covid. This is just more fraudulent jacking up of the statistics!
