OT/Not OT: Chase Winovich sighting in Greenwich Village

Submitted by Wendyk5 on June 26th, 2021 at 2:39 PM

I'm in NYC with my daughter this weekend and we're walking down Bleecker St and I see a big dude with long blond hair walking towards me wearing a Block M baseball cap. He's with some other guys but I'm thinking to myself, I know that guy. He's being very gregarious and just as we walk past him, the smile makes me realize it's Chase Winovich. I only wish I had realized it sooner, I might've tried to get a picture with him.

In my experience on NYC streets, a "Go Blue" in passing doesn't register at first. It's a strange thing to hear two quick syllables when people are usually silent, on their phones, or troubled.

Still, about 2/3 of the time, after my "Go Blue" and a couple steps, I hear behind me "Oh! Yeh! Go Blue!"

I was in Walmart in Newton (Kansas) this morning pushing my little cart along-to get a bag of dog and cat food. Out of the blue I hear a "Go Blue". It struck me that I had my Michigan mask on. I turned and smiled and gave the guy a thumbs up. I don't get that very often out here in this wasteland.

I miss Chase. Probably the best example of a player to point out to young athletes. Marginally ranked as a linebacker, came in and played that on scout then did a year at FB and special teams. Made his way into the rotation behind future first round picks. Then turned himself into an All-B1G player and unquestioned leader of the team. Gets drafted as an undersized DE and has made his mark on the NFL.

One last thing that should never go unnoticed and should also be pointed out to athletes everywhere: Chase genuinely has fun playing the game. When you have fun, it makes you want to work harder.

This program, and the sports world in general need more people like Chase Winovich.

You seem to be getting the hang of this trolling thing a bit late.   You are supposed to build up a few points with innocent comments on non-controversial threads before diving right into the covid disinformation.   You may want to consider starting another account.   They only cost $5.   Maybe UMburritobib?

Is there a reason you feel the need to attack me?

"...the hang of this trolling thing a bit late."

Brand new account today, but sure.  Keep going.

What disinformation did I share?  Please help me to understand.  Like really.  Debunk one thing I said today.  Please.

It cost me $0.00 to make this account, so not sure why you are hung up on money.  Are you in disguise?  Do you make money for new accounts?

Weird.

Oh yeah, well  I saw WD at the Laurel park mall today. Didn’t say anything to him either.

(Kinda weird that I recognized him and don’t know him personally. I spend too much time on this site. )

Once I was on Huron St turning left onto 5th and he was behind me on a scooter. The light turned red and he cut through the parking lot on the corner to avoid the light.

Love that guy, just a quality dude that anyone would like to have in their lives.  I think the Pats are seeing that, obviously in addition to his football playing ability.
