First D. Harris and now L. Woodley! That's a great sign of the depth and talent we have representing UofM in the NFL. Who knows, B. Graham could be well on his way to earning the tag...I can't wait until we can continue the trend of sending off elite defensive talent into the NFL...

Yeah, it will continue next year with Martin graduating in 2012.

Ends/linebackers that fit the mold of all these guys on the '06 defense?

I don't think there's any question he's going to get paid. Didn't he make like 500K or 550K last year? He's easily gonna jump to the 4-5 Million range or at least he should.

Not OT.

If it is the exclusive franchise tag, I'll bet he'll be up around 10 million for the year. The players all like the long term deal because of the big signing bonus check. Still a huge raise for Woodley. Good for him. He's a force. A proud Wolverine and Saginaw High Trojan.
Projected franchise tag base salaries for 2011

It is really the Steelers only option at this point. They want to work out a long term deal but the labor agreement won't allow it as of now. No players salary can increase over 30% until a deal is signed. As was stated Woodley is clearly worth more than a 30% bump from his current salary.

As a Steeler fan, we want him and he wants to be here, and we are going to pay him when we can. Unfortunately, as of the current moment no deal worth his talents can be made.

I read this as "Woodley given the franchise LEG". I need to refresh my contacts and drink less.
